Laptop Only Opens on "Aptio Setup Utility"
I recently had brought my laptop on a plane trip to Europe, and after the flight, my laptop began to only open up on "Aptio Setup Utility." At first, a loading icon appears, but after changing some settings, now it doesn't.

I apologize for my lack of computer knowledge. If you can, I would love it if I can find the problem, and it would be even greater if it can be fixed. Thanks!

You can upload pictures for free (even in bulk) to IMGCUR.com
Once uploaded should end in a unique URL address; which u could then share.
No exchange of infos needed; etc...

Forgot to ask; what is the full model# of the laptop?
As then I can review the PDF manual for that and look more into this booting utility it came with. Or more easily find out more about it.

You said Laptop is ASUS X502CA
On the under-side of the laptop should be a sticker; find "X502CA" and there should be an extra set after this, which would help greatly.

For example; "X502CA--BCL0901D"

Sorry I edited my post; wording was all wrong in some cases... I apologize.

X502CA is a "general model" there should be more to that on the system sticker, which further narrows down to a more specify model, which is most-helpful.

It's like saying "I have a Dell Inspiron 15" This alone doesn't help; the exact model is what would be needed, as the full model narrows down (year of release, specs, etc...)

www.imgcur.com/upload/9df97dd.jpg This is what it's loaded up to, before and after entering the flash drive.

Find anything?

That is the BIOS screen; so what is that utility u speak of? That's kinda what I wanted to see.

Ok the BIOS as shown, go to Boot section at top and see what that says.

It should be rather straight-forward how to boot to a different device; if that device is in-fact bootable. Maybe your friend who made the flash drive backup for you could provide some on-site assistance.

Here is your laptop manual in English if u need it.
http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/X402CA/E_eManual_X402CA_X502CA_VER7847.pdf
Should be view-able on Phone devices without any extra software.

There is nothing in the "boot option priorities"

Disable Launch CSM

Then go to "Add Boot Options"

It's already disabled, and I don't see any "add boot options".

Yes go to Add and press Enter; there should be an option based on already connected bootable devices; as only those can show there. You should see options within there, to add as a bootable option.

The way this BIOS is, only 1 boot loader or device can be active at any given time.
I guess to avoid accidental booting to others connected, such as Optical or USB; that might, upon connecting, come up somehow as the 1st boot device. So this method of "add boot" and "delete boot" is what u have to do to change the boot device.

I can't find "add boot option." The above link is what it looks like.

Ok that IS VERY strange; as Add Boot Option should be listed; and that is the only way to add your HDD/OS to be a boot device.

I see your screen is different from what I see in the manual, so bare with me.

Can u go to "Save & Exit" tab
There should be options such as "Restore Defaults" can u please do that one by highlighting it and press Enter key; after restore defaults, go to "save changes & exit" option and press enter; after which it will be saved and the system will reboot; afterwards re-enter the BIOS and re-check all the tabs / options.

Still no "add boot option" Would you like me to post a picture of each tab?
