PSU fan speed is n/a in BIOS, is the fan broken?
Yep. it says "Power fan speed: N/A" in the BIOS. When the PC boots, it seems slightly quieter in my opinion as well, I don't know if I'm just paranoid about it or what, but I think it's fine, since it's very hot where I am, and the computer isn't instantly catching on fire like I'd figure it would do if the fan broke. All the temps are still >40 C, where I'd figure them to be in this heat. The only thing that seems strange is that the boot time is a bit longer than usual, but I assume that's just the HDD having problems, because again, this is probably the hottest it's felt yet, me having built in in the winter. I think the fan is working fine and that the speed reader just melted or something, but I want to make sure. It's not a no-name brand, dodgy PSU or Rosewill either, so I wouldn't figure it to break after only a couple months...
PSU: EVGA 500W 80+ certified
Mobo: ASRock 970 Pro3 R2.0
Case (if it matters): Rosewill Galaxy 01-A

Is your PSU connected to the mainboard in any other way than the standard cables? If not, your BIOS cannot read the speeds anyway because there is no channel to do so ;)

Yea, as far as I remember I didn't do anything special to it. Looks like I'm just getting paranoid, thanks! :)
the board may have a sense header for the psu fan
but if the psu or its fan does not have a sense lead its not going to work

Some motherboards have a header labled PWR_FAN. These headers were originally for PSUs but pretty much any fan can be connected to one. With the PWR_FAN headers, the speeds of the fan connected, cannot be controlled by the motherboard nor can it be altered in the BIOS. That "Power fan speed" in the bios may be for that connecter. It may say N/A either because nothing is connected to it, or it may say N/A because said header cannot be altered.

The PWR_FAN1 header is between the SATA ports and the ATX power connector and has nothing to do with the fan in the PSU (unless you replaced the PSU fan and are running it from this header).

PWR_FAN headers are not usually controllable on ASUS or ASrock boards but will show fan speeds if a fan with a speed sensor is connected.

Do you have a fan plugged into PWR_FAN1?

No - everything is fine

Yes:

Did it used to show fan speed and now doesn't?

Yes - the fan speed sensor may be broken consider replacing the fan.

No - everything's probably fine.

Is the fan spinning?

Yes - everything's fine

No - replace the fan.
