Can't Decide which Water Cooler,I like both lol,Please help.

Hi I found out from a couple of people from here on Steam and other places that the Noctua NH-L9i 57.5 CFM CPU Cooler isnt reccomended for the i7-4790K.

So now I am going to replace the cooler with one of these,I like both and the software to use to control them is nice,Not sure what to choose they both seem good.

I know I can get the Corsair H105 but it doesnt have Corsair Link.

I know about the NZXT Kraken X61 but according to PCPARTPICKER my case the Rosewill BlackHawk-Ultra it isnt compatable.

Also The Corsair H110i GT Will not fit my case according to PCPARTPICKER :(

So if anyone that has experiance with these 2 Water Coolers could help me choose that would be great :)

Even closed loop coolers may leak (not as propable though), but biggest difference to custom water loop is need of maintenance. Cooling fluid needs to be changed sometimes (yearly at least) in custom loop.

the swiftech one is the nicest, bu also the costliest. but you can change the colour of the coolant which i think is brilliant.

The more I read the more I keep going towards the Kraken X41.

I really wish the X61 would fit my case :(

Hmm think Ill get the Kraken X41,from all the reviews I keep reading it seems to be the best choice. I hear the fans can get pretty loud so any suggestions what fan I should replace the one that comes with it?

If you want to replace the fan, I'd recommend a couple of Noctua nf-f12 pwm fans in push pull. Of course, if you don't want push pull, one of them in either push or pull is good also. They are ugly as hell but are really quiet.

I went with the NZXT Kraken X41. Hopfully this week I will have it :) about 3 bussiness days with newegg,I odered it around 4 am.

Curious the fan you mentioned is a 120mm fan shouldnt I use 140mm in the Kraken X41?

Sorry, I got myself confused there, thinking the radiator was 120mm, it's actually 140mm as you say. Noctua also make the nf-a14 pwm which they claim is ideal for raditaors. Another option is the corsair sp140. All of these fans can be mounted in either push, pull or push pull (2 fans), however you like.

I looked at the Corsair ones but so far I cant find ones with out LED,so I may get the Noctua's,just one for now they are like $30 each.

Yea thats the other reason,I would forget to change the fluid,plus wont I have to take everything out to refill I mean wouldnt that be the safest?

Push and Pull means how the fan(s) are oriented for air flow. If a fan is blowing air through the heatsink/radiator it's pushing air through it. If the fan is sucking air through it, it's pulling air. If you have two fans (one on either side) that have air flow in the same direction then they're pushing and pulling air.

In push, you have the fan pushing air through the radiator.

In pull, you have the fan mounted on the back of the radiator, meaning that it will pull air through the radiator.

In push pull, you have fans mounted on both sides of the radiator, one pushing air through the radiator, the fan mounted on the other side will pull that air through the radiator and exhaust it out of the case.

I can't think of the right words to describe it, so hopefully this video clears things up.

Ok got the Kraken X41 today the temps seem a little better even under load. I am happy with it.

Had to install the radiator at the top of the case coudnt do the back,it wouldnt fit :(
