If you are planning to run that card, I would upgrade my power supply.

Depends on the other parts, and if your PSU is actually any decent.

Having some headroom is never a bad idea though.

The 780 draws a lot more power than the 660TI does.

It 'might' work but its iffy depending on what else is in your computer or if you want to over clock etc.

and the PSU?
500w seasoniceco serios
Wait what, you're wanting a 780 and you game with only 2Gbs of RAM? Dude the GPU is the least of your issues. After your OS is done using RAM it needs, you don't have anything left for gaming, seriously. You need to upgrade that more. get 8 Gbs RAM.

The CPU is going to hold back the GPU too. At which point changing the CPU is recommended. The CPU uses LGA1155 so you can get a nice i5 or i7 for it though.

Should you want a LGA1150 socket CPU, then you need to change the motherboard too.

EDIT: Removed the "a lot" from the CPU bottleneck, as I remembered you're switching to 780, not 780 Ti.

You'd have to be specific about the PSU instead of post "series".

If it's 80 Plus certified you're likely a-okay.
for your current system, i suggest you get an nvidia gtx 960 and be done with it.

(if you plan to get a new board+cpu (asus z97, i5-4690k, cm hyper 212 evo cpu cooler), get nvidia gtx 970+.)
Okay, you might consider the 970 over the 780, just for future sake. The 970 basically replaced the 780 and its geared more toward DX12 when that deploys down the road. Ignore the whole 3.5Gb vs .5Gb issue, that card is just fine. I have two clan mates running it and they love it. The 970 will run cooler and draw less power as well.

if you plan on upgrading the cpu, to an i5 4460-4690 get the 780 or 970
they will be ok with the 500w psu
