Relatar um problema com a tradução
very few crt are digital, (dvi-d, dp or hdim inputs)
there are lots of good lcd displays
most cheapos have poor backlighting or power/main boards
and many suffered from bad caps or bad leds
2005-2010 range cfl had bad caps that would not last more than 5-10 years
the early led models had poor cooling on the leds or poor power boards
to filer out most crap, pick one with dp input, 2ms or lower responce time, 1080p-1440p-2160p

I am not interested to hear how you need to convince yourself in the face of objective truth that spending so much on very inferior technology is a good idea.

So question, would a HDMI/Display Port to VGA converter cause any kind of degradation or input lag?
I played Shinobi 3 - Sega Genesis on an ancient, barely functional CRT TV last night, it was the most beautiful game I've played in YEARS, in YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!
That rickety little TV did more than all the hot liquid 4k garbage I've ever bought put together, I'll no longer try to convince myself that LCD/IPS/LED/OLEDBBQWTF is anywhere even REMOTELY close to where CRT is, and I will NOT spend another decade or more chasing the moment they actually finally catch up, I want to return to form.
You're of course welcome to spend $1000s to try and mimic the real thing, I'll just opt for the real deal instead.
if done on the gpu with analog output it will not add delays, but any modern dedicated gpu does not have analog outputs (dvi-d cannot be adapted to vga)
vga monitors do not have pixels, they use comb filters and will light the closest color cell that the beam hits
(aa/af is done on the display and not needed to be done on the gpu, since the gpu has no defined pixels)
newer lcd displays can have much higher response and refresh rates than crt could ever give
the first few gens of lcds were horrible, large pixels with lots of delays
16+ms would result in ghosting
newer ones with <2ms will not ghost at all
its hard to find a crt monitor that can do 1080p or larger than 24in
24 inch screen. 42kg. Thats 92lbs, for a 24 inch screen. Taking up a 2 foot x 1.8 foot area on the desk/table
Weigh your priorities. CRT is hardly convenient in any regard. They are big, bulky, hardly widely available anymore, and require a lot of effort just to set up and get working properly. The inputs from whatever device you have is likely to need an adapter, going from HDMI/DisplayPort back to component, VGA, etc.
But, if youre still just dead-set on getting a CRT, so be it. Google 'best CRT monitor' and you'll come across plenty of articles.
no idea when i'm ever gonna be able to toss it out :/
With that said
CRT's would really only be useful for older consoles
CRT is dead.
Good luck on finding one that still works. There would be little economic incentive to fix them.
Edit:
I stand corrected. People are buying them.
Not for me thanks.
Staring at an ips screen for 18 hours a day without any breaks is no problem tho...
Dont understand why would anyone want something as dreadfull as a crt...
Lmao, enjoy eye pain half an hour, to an hour into looking at the display.
Or you get a larger trinitron screen, with little wires visible going across the screen. You develop blindness to them eventually.
DAMN IT!!!!!!!!
I heard Display Port has an analogue mode?
>42kg
Good Lord.
t. formulated opinion on CRTs by watching Youtube video records, on his LCD..
