Any game will benefit from an SSD. But huge open world games. Assassins Creed, Fallout 4, Ghost Recon etc massively benefit.

Fast travelling from one location to the next on Assassins Creed Odyssey for example can take 30 seconds on a hard drive. SSD does it in less than 10 seconds.

mmo, or open world are best for a ssd

or e-sports if you want to be first to load each round

Recently many companies are talking about how from now on they will make games beenfit more from SSD and some games like hteese are the upcoming Residnt evil 8, Ghost wire tokyo, Death loop, e.t.c That part of the reason i got a high end SSD the MP 600 2TB 1 week and 4 days ago!

i personally use it for Total war games or strategy games

used to for open world but if it has online would lose all benefit as i still have to wait to load it out

GTAV, RUST, DAYZ, ARMA 2/3
ARK, Conan Exiles, PUBG, Fallout 4, Sea of Thieves, Forza 4, Project Cars 2

And any demanding VR games also.

ARK is fine on good HDDs/SSHD's, but it would still benefit from an SSD.

Basically large open world type games, or games with large maps such as the Battlefield series of games and so forth make use of SSDs.

I hear Watch Dogs 2 has better performance on SSDs, if it's installed on an HDD there's a chance there'll be stuttering when driving around

The real difference is not as much as people would like it to be.
Albeit today, even with a normal HDD, you could just go intel optane and still pull the same speed.

No surprise there with it being open world and fast action paced with alot of vehicles and AI like GTAV

It must also depends on the SSD speed. Because current high end SSD like MP 600 that i have with 4900mb/s read speed is much faster than the SSD that were avaliable at the time of watch dogs release however due to mine pci 3.0 motherboard it will work on 3300 mb/s that still huge upgrade compared to onyl 180mb/s that HDDs are. Anyway my first new game on my new SSD will be Battletoads that releases tomorow but since it is a 2d game SSD wont make much of a difference anyway!
