Xbox One Controller moves the mouse both on desktop and in game
I've had this issue for a while now, where my wired xbox one controller moves my mouse. It is really annoying in game when anytime I use the left toggle stick, a mouse cursor comes floating across the screen. I've tried my fixes from the internet, like turning off desktop configuration in the steam settings and disabling the HID-compliant mouse in mouse settings.Regardless if the xbox configuration box is checked in the settings, that makes no difference. It happens when I play games through Origin as well. I reinstalled Windows about 3 months ago and it started ever since then. Is there some way to stop this please, it's driving me insane.
Thank you.

steam -> settings -> controller -> [desktop/chord/bpm]
config the controller as desired, or disable it

I've done that. I selected a generic config and I disabled it completely. Doesn't make any difference.

the generic configs for desktop use it as mouse
go to each axis and button and unbind it
or pick a disabled profile

if you have multiple controllers plugged in, select each and repeat

I've gone to steam>settings>controller>desktop configuration then to browse configs and then Disables (this desktop configuration disables desktop bindings). I apply the configuration and then click on done but I move the left toggle and the mouse still moves. I load up South Park and as soon as I move the left left stick, that frustrating mouse cursor comes back laughing in my stupid face.
Are games you play via the steam client also affected by this behaviour or only games that you launch with a different client?

I'm a bit confused by the information, that your left analog stick (left toggle stick ?) moves the mouse cursor. The default desktop configuration maps the mouse onto the right analog stick.

Also if you don't check the "Xbox configuration support" box inside the steam client, Steam Input won't have any effect.

Quit Steam and launch a game via a different launcher and test the behaviour. If the problem persists, it's not related to the steam client.

is it the only controller detected by steam?

Yes it's the only controller detected by Steam and yes it happens when I play games through different applications eg, Origin or Uplay. It happens even when Steam isn't running. It is strange that it moves the mouse with the left but I can't explain it.
