Xbox Controller not working
I have a Xbox 360 controller that I've used before that does not work anymore. Under device manager it has a yellow ! next to it and under details of the devide it says

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

Insufficient system resources exist to complete the API.

Any idea how to fix this? It worked before and I know the controller works. When I disable it and then re-enable the green lights light up around it and my laptop dings that a new device was connected but after that the lights go away and the controller doesn't work. All I had open was Steam, Ventrilo, and Castle Crashers. I used to use it on Fallout: New Vegas.

Most likely is a faulty controller; or the cable is bad.
I've had crimped and/or torn cables cause such an issue with Joysticks/Controllers.
Try plugging the controller into another system and see if it works or not. If works on another system, could be a driver issue on your current setup.

Also, instead of Disable/Enable option in Device Manager; try Uninstall option.
Then click your Computer Name @ the top of that list, then click the "Scan for Hardware Changes" button that appears above.

I had the same error when I plugged it into a USB 3.0 port, I tried the USB 2.0 in the back and it worked.

I had the same problem & I seem to have fixed it. Pull up Device Manager & expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers tab. You should see one of the USB icons with a yellow exclamation sign. Right click to uninstall it then restart your computer. It will reinstall automatically on reboot & should work from there.

Well it could be to do with your USB socket type being under powered or faulty, storage space issues or ram, even the registry perhaps assuming you have already tried to uninstall the existing driver and reinstall a new one.

I had the same experience as AoiKitsune. The dongle did not work while plugged into a USB 3 port, but when I moved to to a rear port, it was fine.

then it sounds like you need the correct usb 3.0 drivers, get them from the oem or mobo mfg site
