Large Hands/Fingers Gaming Keyboard
Greeting all, I figured I would start here where all of the PC/console gamers were bound to be. I know all of you superpstars could help me decide!
First off I have been a PC gamer since the mid 90's. A console gamer..well since way back when Atari had "Asteroids, Breakout, Centipede, Combat, Missile Command, Pong and Tempest" out.

Anywho, I am looking to find a nice keyboard that is going to last me a long while. While I am a gamer, I also am a typist meaning, I type quite a-bit of things that has nothing to do with gaming, therefore my keyboard has to have very nice keys in size and comfort.
I am 6'3 with a hand span of just under a foot from thumb tip to little finger tip and when I have my hands on my current keyboard my little finger sits on the "Enter" key and my thumb rests just below the "B' key. And this is with me having to cup my hand some to stay in the general area of the keys.

I am currently using a G510s keyboard and the keys are so close together its almost painful to type more than a few lines. Forget typing my novel I am currently working on. For reference, I have a small 15.4" Sager gaming laptop with a standard keyboard, for that small of a keyboard the keys are huge. I have no issues typing on that. Its so comfortable that I now take notes on it while I in class. However, at home I have a nice set up for gaming and don't like to sit leaning over a desk to see the small 15.4" laptop screen.

I would like to get a mechanical keyboard. The keys need to be a slightly bit larger and not have sharp corners and I spend more time backspacing as my fingers keep sideswiping the keys. Ther term buttery smooth comes to mind but there are only really a couple things that I really require to be "buttery smooth"..and well i am just not going to go into that here.

So I will await your vast knowledge to point me in the right direction of a large key gamer/typist keyboard. I also applaud your tenacity to read through this entire post. My apologies for being a long winded typist.

Respectfully,

Mereinid

Guess you could check out Corsair Vengeance K70 with red switches. Dont think they will make anything specificly for large hands though.

Well all I could say is to go with a mechanical keyboard that has Cherry MX Browns since you're both gaming and typing, which are great for. Not sure what you meant by "buttery smooth" (either the keyswitch or the button texture) If you want linear/smooth keypresses go with Cherry MX Reds, or Blacks if you prefer heavier key press.

I've so far haven't seen a mechanical keyboards made for large hands so I have no suggestions. Sorry!

Thanks so much, I will look into the Steelseries. And I never gave a thought to bottoming out the keys. As I am sitting here typing this I do notice that I do strike the keys a bit heavy so the lite touch one really wont matter.
I am off this weekend to look into a keyboard. I will give these a go for sure. It looks like the consensus is MX Blacks are the ones.

Again, thank you for your time. I know the post rambled on a bit to get to what I was actually looking for. I will curtail my blathering more in the future.
Oh, the buttery smooth comment was my sly amorous attempt at humor...haha. Perhaps a bit less of the innuendos in further posts.

Rogue, Stymie and Rumplecrutchskin, thank you.

Luck and loot you three.
