1280x720 resolution goes off-screen
I use an Asus VH228 monitor which i keep at 1920x1080 and whenever I switch to 1280x720 in a game (i need a lower res because pc sucks) the left and right edges go off-screen and I can see nothing.

I also have a Iiyama ProLite E1900WS as a secondary which I keep at 1440x900, but I don't think that matters as I see nothing popping out on it, I only wanted to get it out of the way in case there's something related to it.

Here are my specs for the record:

3 GB RAM
Intel Core Duo 1.86 GHz
Nvidia Quadro FX 3450/4000 SDI

are you using a tv or monitor?

sounds like its a tv thats overscanning
some tvs have an option to disable overscan
or use the gpu driver to set overscan to -10% or so

What do you mean by "TV"? I clearly stated in the OP I use a monitor.

Actually, come to think of it, the port i can switch to is where my 1440x900 monitor stands, and before I got the Asus, I used that as a primary and smaller resolutions still went off-screen, so I don't think this is a problem with the video ports.
