Headset Microphone is not picking up anything

I just today bought a new Tritton Kunai Headset for my PC (detachable mic). I set it all up as stated in the directions and the audio is working fine but the microphone is not working. My computer can recognize it but does not pick up what i am saying. This happened before when i purchased my X12, but that was so long ago i can't remember how to fix it. Any help?

Does it happen to come with a small control along the cable? If so one of those buttons will activate the mic. Should be green light instead of Red.

As for other fix is to actually install any program that use mic. Teamspeak,Ventrilo,Mumble or any other service due to the fact they have their own codex that will most likely recognize your mic

There is remote along the cable with no light. Only a mic on/off. I checked if it was on and it was. I also checked on bandicam to see if it would work there which sadly it didn't.

Did you make sure the mic is enabled under control panel>sound? I just got a new Logitech headset and had to do the same. Also did you setup the mic under Steam settings?
