Razer mouse stays illuminated even when PC is off.
As a graphic designer I need a new mouse like every 2 years (blame the vectoring) always wired and always laser.
Yesterday sent my veteran Logitech to retirement and picked up first time a Razer, a Imperator 4G right-handed.
My problem is that it that the LED lights stay illuminated even after a complete PC shutoff and due its very close my bed, I cannot sleep well.
I have read that is due the USB ports stay powered, though my other devices (keyboard, X-Box 360 pad) are also always connected and they always shut off properly.
Is some way to set this in BIOS? I have a ASUS Z68 board with UEFI.

Just unplug the mouse before going to sleep, or put it in a box or something to hide the light.

No need to change the BIOS settings.

You must have a mobo that has some sort of "sleep and charge" technology, which is designed to charge cell phones, mp3 players etc. while the pc is asleep. Try browsing the web and your bios to see if your mobo has this capability.

Yeah, I'd suggest checking BIOS settings(don't change anything that you don't need to, by the way). Most motherboards do not normally supply USB power when in sleep more.

most mobos ahve a jumper for +5vsb or +5v for the usb ports

with it set to +5vsb it will use the constant on +5v from the psu to power the usb ports (used to charge devices while the pc is off)

It's usually related to; PSU, Motherboard, BIOS and/or Motherboard Jumper Settings (like the USB +5V)

If u can't figure out how to work around this issue; when u turning off the system for extended periods; after the system shuts down and powers off, then turn off the main power switch on the rear of the PSU; that will completely turn off any stand-by power to the system.

Yeah found it and issue has been fixed. Though my frontal USB connectors (2x case USB and 1x USB of my Axago Multi-Card reader) still seem to be powered - but which is great, since I can use them to charge devices.
