Xbox One Controller vs. Razer Sabertooth
Guys, I need an advice. I like my 360 gamepad well enough, but its D-Pad is absurdly bad. I've decided to get a second controller and get a really good one this time. I'm pretty torn between the Xbox One and Razer Sabertooth controllers. What would you recommend? The Razor uses separate buttons for directions which I'm not a fan of but Xbox One's is made by the same people that made the 360 so I'm bit suspicious despite the good review. What would you suggest?

Xbox One controllers do not officially work on Windows OS; yet.
The Razor ones however are fully "360 Compatable" so there are no issues; those plug&play just like an official 360 controller. The Razor ones are very nice; I love the 4 button D-Pad. One design part of the Sony controllers that I've always loved.

There are two kinds of Razor 360 Controller; Onza Tournament and Sabertooth Elite.
The Elite is fully programable; u can re-map buttons on-the-fly.
If u just want a 360 controller; but a little better design, go with the Tournament.

A good deal right now on this is the "BF3 livery Edition" of the Razor Onza on Amazon; cause in the end, the livery isn't really important; at least u getting a good controller.

Razor Onza Gaming = green back-lighting
Tournament BF3 Edition = orange back-lighting
Tournament Dragon Age 2 Edition = red back-lighting

If you do intend on using a 360 controller on your PC, make sure it is WIRED... The wireless ones won't sync up or even play using their charge cables.

Actually the Xbox One controllers are officially supported now.

Yeah they've been supported for like a week

That's why I'm asking - because they're supported now. I do like the Razer better but I'm not much into that button D-pad ps style.... The D-Pad on Xbox One's controller just looks more convenient for my taste.

Do what you want. If you have to ask, you don't know what you want.

What? He wants a replacement for his 360 gamepad, he is asking those with experince with either the Sabertooth or Xbox One controller. They don't both work the same way either, both are different sizes and weights, one is mechanical and wired, the other has rumble triggers and uses a different set of drivers from the 360's controller.

Technically I'm looking for a second controller but other than that you're completely on spot :D. I think I'm mostly looking for a confirmation the Xbox One has all the 360 problems fixed (especially the D-Pad). Like I said - I'm not much of a fan of the whole buttons for directions thing.

You're an idiot; that is what the USB Receiver for 360 Controllers is for!

Wireless works just fine; and you can connect up to 4x Wireless 360 Controllers per each USB Receiver; so u only need one per system. Play and Charge CAN work; but it will only charge the rechargable battery pack (if u have that). It will not act as a data connection.

The d-pad is better. Everything else is worse. It doesn't feel as good as the 360 (personal preference) and it's more cheaply made(fact). The controller is flimsy and the thumbsticks suck. I've gone through a few already and I only play Xbox for a couple hours a week.

I'd personally stick with the Microsoft ones; wired or wireless.
Just know that wireless will require purchasing a 360 USB Reciver for Windows PC.
Then u can just buy a small mod to make the D-Pad 4-buttons.

Well that sucks, because to be honest apart from the d-pad the 360 controller is very good imo.
And the fact you said the sticks are worse (one of 360's best features) makes me lean towards the Razer. I can deal with direction buttons but I can't stand bad thumbsticks.

Yes, sorry for that mis-leading statement there.
As I was unaware that official driver were now available.

Which can be found here:

You will need a Micro-USB -to- USB cable as well; not sure if a controller already comes with this or not.
