Screen saver comes on in some games
Hey my dudes. Does anyone know why the screen saver will sometimes come on during a few games, but not in almost all of the others? This only happens when I play a few games that use a gamepad (not not loads of others with the very same pad).

Thanks for any help

Have you tried Googling this issue while aslo mentioning which games it is happening with? If it is only happening with some games then it will probably just be those games which have problems with screensavers. There may well be some fixes out there for you, but in the meantime why not jsut switch your screen saver off?

There are "Custom Start Up" options you can apply to your game in Steam by selecting the properties of that said game. There may be a command which you can put it which disables screensavers while in the game.

if using a controller, disable windos screensavers

The problem is simply due to fact that you may have some games running in a Borderless Windows, as opposed to Full-Screen. When in any sort of Windowed Mode, it acts like a normal app rather than a dedicated Full-Screen one. When run in a Windowed Mode, and without interaction from Keyboard and/or Mouse; the screensaver settings can kick into play. So disable the Screen Saver, or the Screen shutoff time set in your Power Profile.

Otherwise, make sure the game runs in Full Screen and not in Windowed Mode if u want to avoid this.

An easy way of switching between full screen and windowed mode is by hitting alt+Enter

Most games will have an in-game setting for this; if it does, select Full-Screen.
If it doesn't, try hitting ALT+ENTER when the game loads up, switching it from Borderless Window Mode to Full-Screen Mode.

Thanks for the help but I've found the culprit. If I pluh my joypad staight into the PC, all is fine. If I plug it into my USB hub all is not fine! Oh well, this may help someone else ...
