I need a W7 driver for an old Microsoft game controller.
I've been hooked on the Sidewinder Dual Strike for many years. It finally stopped working on W7. I've never written a piece of software but I'm willing to try if someone can direct me to a tutorial or at least give me some direction. I don't see how it can be that difficult as the old driver worked OK on XP and I have the old driver on disk. BTW, I would be happy to pay someone a reasonable amount to do this for me.

Yeah, sorry but the functionality is severly limited in Xpadder. I've asked the dev to add functionality but he seems disinterested. The Microsoft thread is pure BS. It does not work.

Device Manager, Install Legacy Device (?)

Is it incompatible due to unverified signatures? Like does the driver actually install?

No, the driver won't install. I've tried everything I know as have several others. I've forgotten the exact error message. I'll try again if you think there's a way.
