Titan is average 5-10 fps slower in 1440p.
For $750 I would really go this instead of reference Titan:

Or EVGA Classified.
No rep here or I'd give you some :D lol.
That's especially disappointing but I imagine explains the price tag.
Gtx 780, 780 ti and most likely 790 will be gaming cards.
Sweet. The reason I asked was because I hear for higher resolutions more vram=preferable. But if the 3gb will be solid for up to 1600p I'm happy. That clears that up, thanks guys!
Yeah I liked my 780 but I kept thinking "but it's not a Ti!" so I sold my 780 for a decent price considering what I paid. I also wanted to change manufacturers from Zotac to EVGA due to better reliability and customer support. If I can sell my guitar (I never play and between gaming and tarantulas my time is eaten up nicely) I may go for the Kingpin edition.
I wish they'd speak up about the plans for the new cards. Aside from Titan Z the speculation is incredible. I hear rumors of a 6gb Ti model, rumors for the 790 and of course rumors for the new 800 lineup. It's driving me crazy lol! At least if I go with EVGA I can use the step up program if something nice comes out within 3 months.
Yeah, 3-4GB should defiantly be enough, 6GB on titan series is for professionals that use up all that to store 3d models and what not.
Why get the kingpin edition? I can see if your overclocking, but besides that it is a complete waste of money.
The reason I was thinking of the kingpin is because I would imagine if they do make a 6gb Ti that would be the model that they'd do. Which would mean I could pay 100$ I believe is the difference and have the better model. But you're probably right I'm just going to drive myself nuts haha.
At the moment I've been working my system up to overclocking but don't plan to go too heavy with it. Probably just up my CPU a bit. Got a good deal on an i7-4770k (250$ new, no tax). But had to RMA my ram as it was throwing errors in memtest and crashing things.
I don't have OCD/internet OCD or anything but I have a bit of an obsessive/addictive personality and a go big or go home mind set. I just want to find something I'm 100% happy with so I can maybe even skip 800 series all together after going SLI. You are right about the next thing around the corner though, so true.
I would suggest just getting a cheaper 780 ti, superclocked or classified and then do them in sli and you will be happy for a long time.
Okay awesome, I'll read some reviews and check which one I prefer. Thank you for all your help! This is the first build I've picked everything out for (my wife builds PCs) so I R newbie.
I think I'll be grabbing this video card. I can get the 20$ rebate and sell Watch_Dogs for 50$ quickly on Ebay since I already have it.
Amazon did have the Kingpin for roughly the same price (10$ more) but no rebate and no Watch_Dogs so I guess I'll just save 80$ if it's not a big difference.
On an unrelated note I see this 780 has 6gb vram. What's up with that?

Not that I could buy it anyway as I'm not in Europe. Just curious.
that evga is a good one.
