PC Sound very loud even when on low volume.
Right now my PC sound is far too loud even when on low volume. The sound is loud at 10 volume, when 50 volume should be medium and 10 quiet.

Does anyone know the cause of this? It's the same on my desktop. Very low volume, but very loud sound, maxing out volume would blow out the speakers/headphones. Have all the latest audio drivers installed.

Please do not give an answer saying 'lower chrome volume' or something, reducing application volumes in the mixer doesn't fix this. The base volume for everything is still way too loud.

Laptop: Dell Inspiron 17r 7720 with dell audio, Windows 7 64bit.

Thank you.

Control Panel - Hardware and Sound - Manage Audio Devices - Playback - Your Speakers or Headphones - Levels - Lower that...

That lowers the volume but the sound is still too high. Low volume is loud on this computer. Loud volume would break the speakers, I said that above ^.

make sure the correct playback device is selected

The sound needs re-calibrating or something. I can put the volume on 1, and it will be loud. Low doesn't mean low, do you know what I mean? I have also re installed all audio drivers.

if you have razer surround sound 7.1 pro, you can adjust your speaker's audio level, with the equalizer. not only can you do that, you can calibrate your audio with 7.1 surround sound. There may be more programs like this.

If you are using windows 10, go into the troubleshooting section from the control panel. Troubleshoot the audio. When it takes you in to the properties for the speaker. Uncheck the "allow programs to take exclusive control of audio". Then go through and set the audio levels to what the audio level sounds like to you. Finish the troubleshooter, then restart the computer. This fixed the issue on my computer.

I believe this issue was caused by Fallout: New Vegas or TES Oblivion.
