Corsair 12VHPWR Cable question
I planned to get a Corsair 12VHPWR cable rather than use the GPU vendor's 12VHPWR adapter due to messy cables. But then outside of the Steam Community, I was told that the cable is bad for the RTX 4080. So, I'm wondering if that Is that true?

Cable in question source:

Why would it be bad for the 4080? I don't think so just make sure you get the right one type 4 or 5 check from here: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/s/psu-cable-compatibility

Just check it over fully when you get it, might be worth considering the non braided version but honestly Corsairs cables are decent from my experience shouldn't be any issues with the braided.

I agree. I'm think about get Corsair HX850 this month, but it would be nice if they have the ATX 3.0 PSU with the 12VHPWR port.

Gave up on the Corsair site. Not sure if the HX850 has it, also some of the Corsair models don't include the cable or have the 300w cable instead which is such bs.

My current fav would be Be Quiet Dark Power 13: https://www.bequiet.com/en/powersupply/dark-power-13/4040
Or any of the Seasonics: https://seasonic.com/consumer/power-supplies?atx_specification=234

I like Seasonic, but I don't know if it will work with Corsair's Premium Individually Sleeved Type-4 PSU Cables Pro Kit

I'm think about Seasonic VERTEX GX-850.

The 12vhpwr is a rather messy cable, however it's nothing to be worried about. What you really want is a large enough PC case to fit the graphics card in without that cable cramping up against it's metal side of the case and squashing it, which breaks or pinches the wires, even shorting them out if against metal.

It's only bad when people try shoving it in up against something solid. If your PC case sides aren't round, but rather flat, ensure there's enough gap between it and the cable. Since the graphic card is so big, there might be little room. Don't force it and you will be fine. Avoid it bending a hard 90 degrees. It's actually quite rare to be able to damage it, but those with issues force it in like crazy while having no space.

That premium individually sleeved 12vhpwr cable you had linked is even better at avoid that issue, being more flexible and isolating each wire.

I have Lian Li 011D XL PC case, so it should be good. Also, I have no plan to use the 12VHPWR adapter that come with the GPU.

That's fine. You won't have any issues with an over bend.

Oh yeah. I have seen this video before. Before this video, I have been against the 12VHPWR adapter that come with the GPU.

I like a 12VHPWR cable from CableMod, but sometime they are expensive.
