SATA ssds should work

yes, but they are kinda picky
x1, x1s, x1x need ssd that is 512g, or 1024g
<500g will not work at atll, and <1000g will be seen as 500g, over 1000g will be seen as 1000g
its completely stupid ms knows how to do this right

prepare the xbox installation tool first, and backup all other data to another usb stick (screenshots, vids, music etc... format the usb stick ntfs first)
