and by similar there will only be a difference of maybe a 100mhz OC if that, these are both high end brands of cards.
I bought the MSI Ventus 5090 because it was the cheapest, temps are fine and it runs like a 5090.
On the my retailer they sell the ROG strix a little cheaper, mostly same price. i want to buy the 5070 ti ROG Strix and it looks great by design and is little cheaper than TUF version, but THe ROG isnt released yet and TUF is there and purchasable
Well they are both fine so just a question of if you wan't it now or want to wait for looks.
guess then i got to wait for the looks :), i was thinking if TUF offers more performance and power maybe, but if they are about same in performance so why not wait to get ROG since i like the design more.
Boost clocks on GPU's these days are dynamic anyway, I often see mine above the stated boost clock, it's down to how cool it is so a high air flow case is best and case temps/air flow have an influence on the boost, when I bought my case I just watched Gamers Nexus case round up and pick the top performer.
Technically, the strix is the higher end card so should have better components, more vrm etc. So if it is cheaper, buy it and wait, potentially a while, just make sure it's the OC variant, the non oc ones may never show up (happened with the 3090 strix), not that the oc variant is worth buying if both are actually available.
Overall though, just buy the cheapest version you can find, asus tax is real and ridiculous, I've seen 5070ti strix going for more than 5080 founders!
Yeah the ASUS Astral 5090 looked good but for £600 more than mine not that good, literally the price of a 9800X3D with 32GB of decent RAM difference.
I only have a 3090/4090 strix as I got them 'cheap' (very cheap for the 4090) and because I wanted a specific waterblock, but they are not worth the premium.
Thankfully optimus is making their block for the pny model this time so I get to avoid an £800 mark up (not that I would ever pay it!).
Where I live, Prices are just almost the same ( very high) between different brands . MSI, ASUS, PNY and gigabyte etc etc, so it wont make much of a difference buying other brands gpu for the sake of money
Country dependant, UK you just take it back to the store and through our sales of goods act a product like that has 6 years warranty, they do try to hide that fact though.
depending on store, my place we have 60 days to return the product, then after that if the product is faulty they will replace it with a functioning one, I recently purchased an RX 7900 xt Pulse and it was getting very hot on VRAM even idle was like 68c degree, playing games on lowest settings made the gpu vram temp go up to 90c, after a month i returned the gpu but this particular store offers only 30 days of refund so i could only choose replacement, then i choose an AsRock Phantom gaming instead and now waiting for it to arrive, but anyhow, i want to get an RTX since AMD drivers are mass unfortunately and their software Adrenalin is terrible. We dont deal with the manufacturers here, but the retailer/store where we buy the product from.
Compare the stock clocks. Some models may even offer an available pr higher power % limit option with regards to available OC options as well. Then you also have the physical dimensions and cooling to consider
