GT 620 is rubbish office PC card and no better then HD 4600.
Get yourself at least GTX 750 Ti for gaming, GTX 960 recommended.
GTX 960 needs better power supply if you have smaller then 500W power supply, GTX 750 Ti runs with 300W power supply.
If you can afford it get GTX 970 and 550-600W bronze or gold certified power supply and you can play pretty much any game with ultra settings on 1080p monitor.
GTX 750 Ti, runs on 300W power supply, easy to install with no cables needed from power supply (make sure you connect your monitor to the card HDMI or DVI slot not to motherboard socket that uses CPU integrated graphics) and runs most games on high settings with 1080p monitor.

$65 with $30 rebate deal.
Would still recommend GTX 750 Ti to get the taste how games really look like with better graphics card.
thanx for the suggestion.
It would be pointless, basicly same performance range.
Or if you want you can try the evga step up program. Basically you can buy a cheap card by EVGA, use it for a while, and if it's not good enough for you, you can send it back within 90 days of purchase and replace it with a better one. You get full value back of the returned card towards the new card of your choice and you just pay the difference depending on what card you upgrade it to.

You can get like a cheap gt730 or gt740 and if you decide that you do want more power, you can upgrade them to a gtx750 or better.
Actually, i just checked, gt 640 only costs 40$ on evga site and it would be a noticeable upgrade from intel hd 4600.
with a $300+ budget, get an r9 290/x or r9 390/x or gtx970
and a quality 550+w power supply
