Disable Gpu Auto Shutdown
I have reason to believe my gpu has a faulty temp sensor or the whole thing is faulty

I cannot return the gpu ( no box and not recently built)

Gpu genuinely sometimes over heats but then even after of 10+ hours of no use and turned on the next day gpu shuts down after 10-15 mins of gameplay

notes: Gpu was the last in the store from what I was told so I took it anyway without any consideration. which could also assume it was returned for the same reason or another.

sabertooth 990fx

amd 6300

rm750

amd asus r9 270x

If it's truly a faulty display card then there isn't much thing you can do software-wise. One thing you may try first is install GPU-Z or MSI Afterburner and monitor the conditions of your card in real time.

Sorry but that also gives me a problem, Pc wasnt built recently so I dont have the reciept that was in the box. I appreciate the help but I guess I'm going to have to find a replacement soon.

it should have a 3 year warranty
contact asus, the card is under 3 years old

dig around for the recipet
if you got it at a local store, they should be able to look it up

anyhoo r9 270x was released in 2013, the card cant be over 3 years old at this time

fill this out

Yes, RMA to ASUS for replacement.
Also ensure you manually up the TDR time in Windows, as this "fix" is basically required for Vista and later OS'

I got the gpu at frys should they be able to look up the gpu ? and give some sort of reciept to send back to Asus ?
_I_ Jul 7, 2015 @ 3:53pm
frys can look up and reprint a reciept for you

You don't need the receipt. And after the return policy of the retailer passes, there is no need to deal through them. Just deal with the maker directly. And for that all u need is the Serial# and other info off the product.

You're telling me I don't have to have the reciept from frys for proof of purchase to rma to Asus and just give them the serial number and other info on the physical gpu itself and im done ?
_I_ Jul 8, 2015 @ 8:34pm
the serial number should prove its under 3 years from the mfg date

but they may require a reciept or invoice
