Should I upgrade or buy a new computer?
I am pretty new to pc gaming and got a lower budget computer about 2 years ago. It was good for playing low spec games such as minecraft. My interest has gone to other games and I am looking to be able to play some games that require more powerful computers such as ARK or to play some games that I currently play with higher settings. After reading some articles I'm still unsure what to do. I have never upgraded or built a custom gaming computer before but I know the basics about computers. Could anyone offer some advice?

These are my specs:
Intel Pentium G630 2.70 ghz
4GB of RAM
32 bit OS with a 64x based processor
Radeon HD5450 Graphics Card

If any other information is required please let me know.

pentium g630 is socket 1155
you can get a 2nd-3rd gen i5 and a much better gpu and psu for it

the radeon 5450 is a trash gpu, not much better than the intel hd
getting a gtx750 or r9 card will be a huge improvement

You can upgrade to the i5 2550K, probably the best i5 CPU Intel ever made or basically any i3, i5, i7 2000 series desktop CPU.

You can upgrade the RAM, 8GB should be plenty.

Graphics is trickier as the PSU has to be good enough (what do you have?).
Any card that doesn't need PCI-E power should do just fine, the 750 Ti is a good choice.
Any higher and you'll need a better PSU.
What motherboard do you have? In general, there is no needs to buy new computer - you can upgrade CPU, probably buy another 4GB RAM (which would be good, but not necessary. At least, you can delay that) and new video card. We should know exact model of your PSU, your budget and games which you going to play to give more specific advices.
It probably will be required to replace PSU for powerful video card.

P.S. Lucky for you, computers with this CPU usually have a lot of upgrade possibilities up to very modern and powerful configs. If there is not one of prebuilt models in very small computer cases - they simply have not enough room to place new components.

At the least, upgrade to a 64bit OS.. No reason to be using 32bit anymore..
Which if you want 8GB of RAM you'll have to do that anyway.
My motherboard is an Intel DH67BL and my PSU is an ATX P4. As for games that I would be playing, I was hoping ARK and DayZ on at least low settings and Dota 2 on high, if that helps at all.
1. You motherboard is fine. It supports any LGA1155 CPU up to i7-3770K
http://processormatch.intel.com/Processors/CompatibleProcessors?componentName=DH67BL
which allow to run ANY existing game on ultra. As well as games which will be released in several nearest years.
But, of course you don't need such powerful and expensive CPU. Cheapest i5 which I found on pcpartpicker is i5-3340 for $180. This is too much... Probably you will be able to find used i5-3330/3350P.
2. There is NO such PSU as "ATX P4". ATX (from "Advanced Technology Extended) is form-factor for both motherboards and PSUs. P4 obviously abbreviated from "Pentium 4". I need to know manufacturer and exact model of your PSU. At least, its power. Honestly only wattage isn't enough - PSU is critical part of computer and low-quality PSU can burn both CPU, motherboard and even RAM in rare cases.
Sorry for not putting the manufaturer in my last post I accidentally missed it. I am not sure what from the label on the PSU would be needed but here is everything it says.

Ark Technology Inc. ATX P4 Power Supply
AC Input 115/230V, 5/2.5A 50/60Hz
DC Output +5V +12V -12V +3.3V +5VSB TOTAL
KY-ATX500 32A 14A 0.5A 28A 2A 500W

It says ATX P4 Power Supply just under Ark Technology, so I assumed that it was the name of the model. Im assuming th 500W means 500 Watts, but Im not sure what the multiple voltages and amps are though.
Thx, that is exactly what I need to know.

12v @ 14a = <300w psu

get a better power supply if you want a gpu stronger than a gtx750ti
it gets all of its wattage by 5v @ 32a and 3.3v @ 28a, pcs dont need over 20a on those rails
