Then just get latest drivers from here, install them and you are good to go:

wait, you have an 800$ pc? that's crazy. i have a 500$ pc and i feel like i overpayed.
Also installing hardware wont screw up memory, so you dont have to worry

Well it doesnt take that long, but they probably have other orders. You have to keep that in mind when dealing with a PC shop, its a business.

If ur handing over your entire PC, any "sensitive" stuff should either be hidden/passworded or transfered to a different medium.
I'm sure the shop doesn't just have your computer to deal with. I'm sure they have other things on their plate that will tie up time throughout their day.

Generally, swapping out a GPU will take anywhere from 10-20 minutes.

The work isn't hard to do, but it does take a little bit of time and effort to swap out GPUs. If you're not sure what to do and would prefer a computer tech/shop to do it for you, just remember you have to go by their schedule and you probably won't be high on their priority list to getting the job completed right away.

The only upside to them doing it for you, if you don't know much about hardware, would be if they run into a problem. They would be better equiped to figure it out and fix it.

As for safety precautions: if you have anything incriminating on your computer and they happen to come across it, they have to report it to the athorities. Also, just out of habit, I'd personally back up anything important on to a USB flash or burn to a DVD/CD or even copy to an external HDD if you have one.

It's not just about installation of GPU + Driver; but burn-in time and some stress testing; which any real tech with common sense would do for you.
