to overclock, get a 212evo or h100+
But if you are going to overclock which generates more heat then it would be wise to get a good air cooler like the CM 212 EVO / Scythe Mugen Max if your case can fit those. If you'll be doing really high overclocks then an all-in-one water cooling solution will be even better like the Corsair Hydro Series / Cooler Master Nepton Series.
around 30 at idle
And around 70-80 at render.
And about 50 when gaming.
Is this good or should i consider a aftermarket cooler?
thats fine as long as it isnt throttling
most newer intels throttle at 90-100c
if you want to overclock get a better cooler
I am using the same cooler and I actually got it for $20 on Amazon. It was SUPER easy to install, the baseplate is a square with struts on all four corners for AMD and Intel compatibility, I believe Intel uses the struts and AMD is just the square. The cooler keeps my CPU cool and is very quiet. Even when playing BF4 or Arma 3 the cooler never gets loud.
Honestly, you won't need to overclock with that card. I am using the AMD FX-9590 which has very slightly lower performance than the 4790k and I have absolutely no need to overclock, I get perfect frames on very intensive games.
