Xbox one to PC/Monitor Displayport
Hi everyone,

Ok, so as a treat I upgraded my pc and got a nice 4k monitor. I decided to connect my Xbox one to it and realised it only had displayport as a input. Basically I would like to connect my xbox one to display on my XB280Hk, my pc has 2 980 G1s so I was wonderting is there a way to connect this set up so I can play the xbox. I looked and saw a £70 convertor but cannot find any details on how much lag this would cause, I would like to be able to use the xbox online for FPS etc without extra lag.

I did look into the new OTA streaming to pc thing that windows have done but it looks horrid and also seemed abit laggy.

Is there a way I can connect the HDMI into the Displayport on the monitor lag free or a work around of connecting the xbox (wired I would guess) to the pc and display through that?

Thanks in advance!

In that case you'll need an HDMI Male to DisplayPort Male Cable

Nope, that won't work... XB1 can not use a passive DisplayPort adapter... it must be an active adapter

Why not just use HDMI for the Console and DP for your PC.
PC should not use HDMI, cause u have to tinker with OverScan and that BS; something that is a non-issue when PC uses DVI or DP

HDMI does not overscan on a monitor.

HDMI does not overscan on a monitor.

that depends on the monitor and its settings, most will overscan by default

When u use a Console via HDMI to Monitor; they still might over-scan like when using an HDTV; the Monitor should have settings within the OSD Menu system for that.

It is best to not bother using any adapters with regards to your Game Console.

If you have both HDMI & DP on your Monitor; then use DP for your PC.

Sorry to revive again but I have a HP monitor which only has DVI, VGA and DisplayPort and I have my PC connected to DVI and I want to connect my xbox to the monitor but as I dont have a HDMI option in my monitor I want to use an adapter (https://www.amazon.co.uk/TechRise-2-Meters-DisplayPort-Converter-Supportted/dp/B01IHFGTOK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1477770040&sr=8-2&keywords=HDMI+Male+to+DisplayPort+Male+Cable) so i can connect the HDMI into the xbox and display port into the monitor so I can switch over using source but will the HDMI To Display port actually work and if so with full frequency or experiance lag of lack of resolution? please help!
