Laptop PC Hardware Swap
Hello people of the Steam Community:

I currently play my games on an Alienware 14 laptop. I got it at the begining of August last year, so it is an older model. As you may know, the Alienware laptops are not very good on portability. My laptop is 1.5 inches thick, and it is a total pain to carry around. I was going to buy a Razer Blade with potential money I could have gotten for trading in this laptop, but I soon figured out that I was not going to get anyware near the price of a new Razer laptop by trading this one in. To get to the point, is there any way I can transfer all the hardware (NVIDIA Graphics, Intel Core, etc.) To another shell of a potentialy thinner laptop (for example, transfer everything from my pervious laptop to an emptyed out Razer laptop)? If it is possible, I would need to know:

How to do it, or if I could hire someone to do it for me,
How much it would it cost to do this.

Thank you!

as long as the type of ram is the same, you should be good. as for how do to it, I would imagine you just swap them. however, I wouldn't recommend doing this as it voids razer's two year warranty.

I don't think it's possible because the hardware needs the space & laptops are all build in different ways. The parts probably wouldn't fit into the razer laptop case.

It only weights 3 kilograms, maybe get a laptop backpack & if you can't because you already wear a backpack, get a laptop carry case with a shoulder strap.

The only other option would be to sell the Alienware 14 on ebay & buy a new laptop that weights less, if there is anything out there...
