[SOLVED]Microphone broken/static in Windows 10.
I was using my microphone with no problems or static in windows 7, crystal clear sound. This issue started to happen last week, most likely because I installed windows 10.

The microphone is making an horrible static, and my voice heavily distorted and robotic, what I'm saying is barely understandable.

A list of things I did by now:
-Test my mic with other PC (works)
-Test with other headset/mic (no difference)
-Test with not front mic in, but also rear mic in and line in jacks. (They didn't work either, same static noise. Must be something about the PC or drivers)
-Use different headphone/mic splitter cable (I use it because my headset cable is combined)
-Reinstall realtek hd drivers countless times.
-Completely remove realtek drivers and use microsoft's default hd audio drivers.

This is extremely annoying because I can't talk to my friends, and it bothers me that apparently there isn't a single reason why shouldn't it work.
I'm using onboard sound (Realtek ALC898 codec, if it matters).
My headsets are razer blackshark and bose quietcomfort 25.
My sound drivers are updated.
Any help will be appreciated.

******************EDIT**********************

Anyone having this issue try this out

Go to control panel > sound settings
Click on microphone
Click properties
Click properties again under "Controller Information" in the "General" tab
Click change settings (you might need to enter your password now)
Click the driver tab
Click "Roll back driver"
Restart your pc.

I don't see this as an issue. I see this as an upgrade. Now, you can fool all your mates into thinking you're a cyborg.
Rollback to Windows 7, you get 30 days to change your mind.

Then report the issue to Microsoft so it can get fixed.

Not to offend you, I appreciate every help, but sorry, I'm not desperate enough to roll back to windows 7, I already wasted a day on this issue, and I'm not wasting my next week on re downloading all my games again (I'm also out of my bandwidth). I still think there should be a solution to this problem. Thanks anyways.
Why do you need to download your games again?

Because I'd be formatted and reinstalled Windows 7, I guess?

I upgraded from Win 8.1 to Win 10 and didn't have to reinstall anything...
A. have you ?
1. uninstalled current (realtek) sound card driver
2. rebooted computer
3. reinstalled sound card driver for windows 10
4. on sound settings, set 'speakers' as default device on 'playback tab' instead of 'realtek digital output' or vice versa
5. rebooted the computer

6. on sound settings, tried changing the sound setting of your device on the 'recording' tab, setting the 'microphone' as default instead of 'line in' or vice versa?

Thats why you dont buy your system, when its not even out for 1 month. There is no reason to get Windows10. Its slower, has weak virus protection and still a lot of bugs.
I'm having the same issue. It's better now than it was a few weeks ago when I first upgraded (thanks to some driver updates) but your audio quality currently matches my current quality. Seems to be a driver issue from Realtek, from what I can tell everybody who has the problem has realtek drivers.

Just hold tight for Realtek to fix the issue. Until then, there isn't anything you can do.

And the other guy is right, when you upgrade an OS this soon after the release, you expect to have things like this happen.

I don't have a "signal enhancement" thing in the advanced section of microphone properties... also as far as I know, I didn't use any enhancements in my Windows 7 either. I've written a support ticket to realtek and gigabyte (my motherboard manufacturer, probably has something to do with onboard sound card), I'll let you know if it fixes it. I just hope they'll roll out an update or some other ♥♥♥♥ asap.

Alright guys, I finally fixed this problem last week (couldn't write because temp banned from forums, lol). I bought an Asus DGX 5.1 sound card and installed its drivers and the management panel. Everything is fine now, as I predicted, the problem was about Realtek and their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ incompatible drivers. Anyways

I know this forum is literally almost a year old but it was one of the first things that came up when i googled the problem to help fix it myself so i assume people will still come by this.
Obviously try the other suggested steps first, then try going to sound settings (right-click the sound icon on the right of your task bar) then right click your recording device, then configure speech recognition, then set up microphone.
Alternatively if you cannot get to sound settings somehow by doing this you can go to settings and type "sound" and select "sound (this is the second option for me and probably you) and then follow the steps i previously listed.

This may not work for you but it worked for me and im just trying to help anybody with the same problem as it is very frustrating.

Hopefully this helped anyone with this problem or one similar.
