Then report the issue to Microsoft so it can get fixed.
Not to offend you, I appreciate every help, but sorry, I'm not desperate enough to roll back to windows 7, I already wasted a day on this issue, and I'm not wasting my next week on re downloading all my games again (I'm also out of my bandwidth). I still think there should be a solution to this problem. Thanks anyways.
1. uninstalled current (realtek) sound card driver
2. rebooted computer
3. reinstalled sound card driver for windows 10
4. on sound settings, set 'speakers' as default device on 'playback tab' instead of 'realtek digital output' or vice versa
5. rebooted the computer
6. on sound settings, tried changing the sound setting of your device on the 'recording' tab, setting the 'microphone' as default instead of 'line in' or vice versa?
Just hold tight for Realtek to fix the issue. Until then, there isn't anything you can do.
And the other guy is right, when you upgrade an OS this soon after the release, you expect to have things like this happen.
I don't have a "signal enhancement" thing in the advanced section of microphone properties... also as far as I know, I didn't use any enhancements in my Windows 7 either. I've written a support ticket to realtek and gigabyte (my motherboard manufacturer, probably has something to do with onboard sound card), I'll let you know if it fixes it. I just hope they'll roll out an update or some other ♥♥♥♥ asap.
Obviously try the other suggested steps first, then try going to sound settings (right-click the sound icon on the right of your task bar) then right click your recording device, then configure speech recognition, then set up microphone.
Alternatively if you cannot get to sound settings somehow by doing this you can go to settings and type "sound" and select "sound (this is the second option for me and probably you) and then follow the steps i previously listed.
This may not work for you but it worked for me and im just trying to help anybody with the same problem as it is very frustrating.
Hopefully this helped anyone with this problem or one similar.
