and it definitley fits my motherboard?
Have you bought the motherboard yet? I highly advise getting a different brand. MSI AMD motherboards have a bad VRM design that has a tendency to fail when paired with higher wattage CPUs. http://www.overclock.net/t/946407/amd-motherboards-vrm-info-database
A cheap alternative is the Gigabyte ga-970a-ds3P, or for a little more there is the Gigabyte ga-970a-ud3P.
thanks for the information, but yes i have got the motherboard so gonna have stick with it, just wondering why is the black edition not the obvious choice?
Something u never gonna do on that cheap Motherboard.
Seriously, u picked one of the worst Motherbaords to use for AMD FX6 series (or higher)
If an AMD board doesn't have VRM heatsinks, don't buy it, period.
Just return the board and get a better one. If u need help or suggestions; just ask.
even if i have coolers?
Since you cannot change the motherboard, I would get a 2 packs of these and put them on the motherboard's VRM. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835708011
They should help cool the VRM and reduce the chances of it blowing up on you. Not to mention the fact that a cooler running VRM means there is less a chance of the CPU throttling (slowing itself) which can happen (and is very common on this board) when the VRM gets hot.

4+1 or better is fine for stock speeds
add vrm heatsinks for small oc
or 8+2 with vrm heatsinks or better for higher oc
a good way to see if it has 125w oc support, look for the pii 965 c2 (140w) on the boards support list
if that is not listed do not overclock
look at all the msi failboards
http://www.overclock.net/a/database-of-motherboard-vrm-failure-incidents
msi even has a warning on their site for several boards to avoid stresstesting and overclocking

if its a new build, skip amd and go to an i5 if you can
thanks for the help
