Mobos and CPU's
I have a MSI 970A-G43 AMD 970 ATX (AM3+)
Im looking to get a 6 core, but im not sure which one fits and which is better...
AMD FX 6200
AMD FX 6300
or 6300 Blacxk Edition?
Im not sure if they all fit in the Motherboard (ive done some research like on msi website but not 100%) thats why im asking and general knowledge of the CPU's......
Thanks.
Ps. ill be looking to play the likes of rust and dayz and i have taken into account that they are EA, but i play BF$ so maybe how it would handle that would be good?

Also i have a budget so please dont say get a 8-core.

FX 6300 is best out of those.

Have you bought the motherboard yet? I highly advise getting a different brand. MSI AMD motherboards have a bad VRM design that has a tendency to fail when paired with higher wattage CPUs. http://www.overclock.net/t/946407/amd-motherboards-vrm-info-database

A cheap alternative is the Gigabyte ga-970a-ds3P, or for a little more there is the Gigabyte ga-970a-ud3P.

AMD Black Edition is for Overclocking.
Something u never gonna do on that cheap Motherboard.
Seriously, u picked one of the worst Motherbaords to use for AMD FX6 series (or higher)
If an AMD board doesn't have VRM heatsinks, don't buy it, period.

Just return the board and get a better one. If u need help or suggestions; just ask.

All FX CPUs are black edition, they all can be overclocked. But I heavily advise not overclocking on that board.

Since you cannot change the motherboard, I would get a 2 packs of these and put them on the motherboard's VRM. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835708011
They should help cool the VRM and reduce the chances of it blowing up on you. Not to mention the fact that a cooler running VRM means there is less a chance of the CPU throttling (slowing itself) which can happen (and is very common on this board) when the VRM gets hot.

a good read on amd cpus and overclocking
http://www.overclock.net/a/about-vrms-mosfets-motherboard-safety-with-high-tdp-processors

amd vrm config database
http://www.overclock.net/t/946407/amd-motherboards-vrm-info-database
4+1 or better is fine for stock speeds
add vrm heatsinks for small oc
or 8+2 with vrm heatsinks or better for higher oc

a good way to see if it has 125w oc support, look for the pii 965 c2 (140w) on the boards support list
if that is not listed do not overclock

look at all the msi failboards
http://www.overclock.net/a/database-of-motherboard-vrm-failure-incidents
msi even has a warning on their site for several boards to avoid stresstesting and overclocking

http://us.msi.com/pic/image/icons/icon_20111208113403.gif

if its a new build, skip amd and go to an i5 if you can
