Gtx 980 with a 500 Power Wattage.
So i just bought my first pc its on route and im just wondering if its gonna work out well .. im reading around that a gtx 980 needs a better power wattage then 500w

Heres the PC /: gonna be using it for gaming on the most recent games and live streaming hopefully.

The screen i plan on using with it takes up about 23w.. I am a little lost of to why a company would sell me a PC with a graphics card that the PC can barely handle?

Thanks for any inputs and all help .

Its my first time ever owning a PC so i am very new to the whole thing
˜lokkandload˜™ 18 AGO 2015 a las 9:26 p. m.
okay according to Nvidia's device data sheet yes 500W is minimum.

But you wont have much room at all to add devices even externally that rely on the PSU to get power.
Teknohead 18 AGO 2015 a las 9:27 p. m.
how often do you add devices after build
JoJo 18 AGO 2015 a las 9:29 p. m.
I have never owned a PC before so lemme make sure im understanding :P so your saying i wont have much room if i decided to upgrade different parts of the computer without upgrading the power first correct?
JoJo 18 AGO 2015 a las 9:33 p. m.
Alrighty, Thank you very much for the help on the situation much appreciatied :)
˜lokkandload˜™ 18 AGO 2015 a las 9:37 p. m.
lets see....external pocket hard drives, webcams, anything that derives power from the system via USB impacts what the system power needs to be

So i wouldnt be able to hook up a webcam and a headset for streaming ? D:

I'm not saying NO, but these are factors is all. At your earliest convenience I'd consider an upgrade in the PSU. If the system starts acting flaky it could be a cuplrit.

Webcam and headset wont use much power, if you dont add extra hard drives and SSD it should be fine. But yeah it would be good idea to swap it to the 650W gold certified PSU if you want to add more stuff to your PC.
For moment as it sits with webcam and headphones it should be fine.

500w should be enough, just don't expect any overclocking (h97 isn't for that, the z97 would be and an unlocked multiplyer version of that i7, the 4790k). Also, Asus is a great company and they definitely wouldn't sell anything that wouldn't work together.

I would personally recommend building your own, since you can spend the same and get a z97 mobo, an i7 4790k, and 980 Ti... but you appear to have already bought it.

It's a good specced PC, but pretty overpriced. Just yesterday or the day before, HP had that (almost) same specs computer on sale for $875. http://slickdeals.net/f/8045263-hp-desktop-laptop-sale-250-rebate-on-1050-orders-30-off-amp-more-free-s-amp-h

But oh well.
