If it's crashing, chances are your OC is not stable.
I'm not looking for a stable OC at that frequency I would just like to get my OC validated at 5Ghz, that is my goal. I would only like to get it stable at 4.4Ghz which should be possible given that I got a very good air cooler (Scythe Mugen Max + second fan).
First do Bench CPU; when done (if doesn't crash) do the Stress CPU.
Always run lengthy stress tests whenever u OC something, to help ensure it can remain stable and cool at full loads.
5ghz would require ln2
You probably just need a bit more CPU and Northbridge voltage to get an extra 10MHz out of the FSB.
Maybe shut down the secondary core, remove the second RAM stick to ease the load on the northbridge, slacken off the timings
If you don't have access to liquid nitrogen you can try cooling using compressed CO2, cycle shops sell canisters for inflating tyres. Empty one on the base of the CPU cooler before hitting the Validation Link to keep it cool. Wear gloves for this or you'll get frozen fingers.
Best of luck
Just wait a few more months for cold weather and pump cold air in from outside into the room then you should get your 5ghz. Since it's just a status 5ghz you're after there's no point in spending $$$ on coolers just let mother nature help.
Huh? Ofc i changed the voltage to manual, to 1.8V to reach 4.91Ghz. I already got it stable at 4.0Ghz for 24 hours of Prime95 blend so no need to put it as low as 3.4Ghz. ;)
Try Aida64 or IntelBurnTest
My CPU disagrees with you because it is sweating at 100% full load.
I always have all 3 on-hand and test with all 3 of those.
Overall, watch your Voltages and CPU / GPU Temps too.
See if anything it peaking too high; like your VCore jumping up because of loads; VRM getting too hot, or your 12-Volt lines dropping after heavier loads.
