Is running my CPU fans and System fans at full speed all the time bad?
I have been doing this for years and I never really had an issue, but I was just wondering to myself if this could be bad for some reason.

I pretty much have my CPU fans and System fans running at 100% all the time. Fan noise has never really bothered me and I always wanted to just have the best thermals I can get. I don't run my GPU that way, but I do have a pretty aggressive fan curve profile on my GPU nonetheless.

I never really questioned this, but I was just thinking about it, and was wondering if this could be bad in the long run. It is not so much for me as I do turn the speeds down once in awhile and can create new profiles if it is an issue. But I was just thinking of my Dad. I am letting him use my old PC and I have the CPU fans and system fans set at maximum, except the GPU, which has an aggressive fan curve.

So, can this be bad for some reason? Or is the only thing to worry about excessive fan noise?

To be honest it doesn't matter if you're running them 100%, they'll likely outlive your entire build regardless.
Yep. You'll probably be able to plop them into your next one...unless they're eBay fans or equivalent garbage.
Yeah I've actually have seen some cheapo fans included with a cheap case fail quickly, that was when they were only a few weeks old. Rest were fine, but I think the cheap quality meant some would just be junk right from the get go.
Actually, the only fan I would be worried about dying is the fan inside my Cooler Master MA620M. If you look at its design, it is almost impossible to change the fan out. So if it dies, so does my cooler pretty much. I would have to replace it. Probably not that big a deal though, because I am planning to get a 360mm Rad AIO here in the next month or so.

Bearings are a type of bushing, so he's not wrong.

Bushing is a type of bearing, only not used in PC fans. The types of bearings used in PC fans are: fluid-dynamic bearings, sleeve bearings, or ball bearings.
My bad, I got the meanings mixed up.
Ignore that part then.

If you have good fans, they shouldn't make much noise at 100% anyway.

Yeahhhh you may want to get your ears checked little buddy if you can't tell the difference between 600rpm and 1200rpm lmfao.
My ears are one of the better parts of my senses.
There is a difference, don't think I'm saying there isn't. I'm saying it's quiet, even while sitting right next to it. If it's not you're using ♥♥♥♥♥♥ fans, or are hyper sensitive.
(The only fans I don't like are the little ones that squeal when at high speed.)

"No. It's not.
Fans last for years anyway.
You haven't used good fans then."

What kind of magical good fans do you use ? I'd really like to know the brand able to make fans who beat the laws of physic.
Arctic F12s.

And, where did I say they were silent? Lmao.

These ones have been running 100% for the past 3 or so years, while being powered on for about 10 hours a day.

It's really easy to formulate effective fan curves in BIOS. What is preventing you from doing this?
I'm lazy, and I like my fans being used.

Running my fans at 100% and my idle temps are like 25C. It is really nice to see. At 30% and the temps can get to the mid-high 30s. I know that is still acceptable, but it is nice to see idle temps as low as 25C.

Apart from slowly killing your fans and becoming deaf for no reasons, 25° is useless. Being in the 30s is more, way more than acceptable.
Not seen a noticable decrease in life from the average.
Only way I can see you would is if you don't clean your PC.

Hardly going to go deaf from a couple of fans producing a little noise. You don't freak out when a car goes by (at normal speeds) do you?

Funny I've been thinking about upgrading my CPU cooler as well. Just don't know if I want to spend the money I just dropped $90cnd on Elden Ring and I don't typically like to buy games at full price. $20-40 ish I like.

$90 canadian? Did you buy a special edition?

It does look pretty bad ass though. FromSoftware games are so difficult. I wonder if it will be tamed down though do to its open world nature.

No, thats $79 + 13% sales tax here. Ontario Canada, we pay a good amount of taxes.

Yeah that is true. My bad. I don't live in Canada but I was actually born in Canada. I live on the border of Canada. Right across the border from Edmunston, NB. My Mom was Canadian(I say was because she passed away in 2004), and my Dad is American. I was born in Canada because it was the closest hospital, but I have lived in America my whole life, and have my US Citizenship. I am actually dual. I did play hockey in Canada my whole life growing up though, and my favorite team is the Montreal Canadiens, lol. They are having an awful year though, :(.

Sorry for your loss man, thats rough. I've not lost a parent yet I can't even imagine how difficult that is. Canada is pretty weird right now, house prices are through the roof, everything is super expensive, we're having a huge trucker protest at the Capital in Ottawa over wanting to end all Covid mandates, everything is messed up.

But at least we have gaming.

But I hear ya. And yea I have seen those protests online. Causing major traffic jams huh? They are just parked, taking up all the highway right?

They basically clogged up the whole city + people showing up to protest I think there's over a million people there right now? Generated a lot of money too, I think over 9 million on Go Fund Me.

CoolerMaster 212 should be adequate, cheaper, & less problematic.

I have a Coole Master 212 Evo. It is on my i7 4770K build. It is adequate, a very good cooler. I was able to overclock my i7 4770K with it. But it is not as good a cooler as the Cooler Master MA620M. The i7 10700K is just another beast entirely. Runs hotter than a 4770K. For stock, the MA620M is fine, but when I want to overclock I am going to need an AIO. I wouldn't be able to overclock using the 212 either with the 10700K.

Edit; Well, I say the MA620M is better, but it is hard to tell. I am only able to have one fan with the MA620M, and replacing it would be a pain. So you are right about the 212 being cheaper and less problematic. But the MA620M is a really good cooler for just being an air cooler, and looking at benchmarks it is hard to tell which is better. I do have two fans on my 212 which adds to its performance. If I was able to put an extra fan on my 620M I am sure it would perform even better. Unfortunately, because of how it is built, it is impossible to do so.

What are your specs and your temps ? Because running the fans at 100% all the time is useless.

I don't think it is useless to be honest. Thermals, even when idle, are much lower when the fans are at 100 than not. So, considering that heat is your components enemy, having them the coolest they can be can't hurt.

Oh, and see my profile page for my specs. Lol, I don't feel like typing them.
no its fine i run my front and top fans 100% 1920rpm they are quiet for high rpm fans
my rear 140mm is a noctua industrial grade 3000rpm i run @1400rpm moves a ton
of air have had 1 fan failure(rattled) in 9 years running 3 builds the same way.
its much easier to keep cool than cool down.

and for the record i used corsair in all builds (high static)but my current build i used these
PC COOLERS best fans ive ever used using on both intake and radiator cant give
enough praise great quality and quite.

These fans look awesome. Pretty good price as well. They are of good quality you say? They aren't cheaply made?
