Is running my CPU fans and System fans at full speed all the time bad?
I have been doing this for years and I never really had an issue, but I was just wondering to myself if this could be bad for some reason.

I pretty much have my CPU fans and System fans running at 100% all the time. Fan noise has never really bothered me and I always wanted to just have the best thermals I can get. I don't run my GPU that way, but I do have a pretty aggressive fan curve profile on my GPU nonetheless.

I never really questioned this, but I was just thinking about it, and was wondering if this could be bad in the long run. It is not so much for me as I do turn the speeds down once in awhile and can create new profiles if it is an issue. But I was just thinking of my Dad. I am letting him use my old PC and I have the CPU fans and system fans set at maximum, except the GPU, which has an aggressive fan curve.

So, can this be bad for some reason? Or is the only thing to worry about excessive fan noise?

It's really easy to formulate effective fan curves in BIOS. What is preventing you from doing this?

Well, for one, I like the fan curves that came standard with my motherboard. They are effective. There is a quiet mode, standard mode, performance mode, and full speed mode. But after talking with my Dad, he told me he would rather just have the fans running at 100% to keep the thermals as low as possible, and I have concluded that I will do the same thing. Things have been running great and my thermals are great, so I will keep doing what I am doing. Noise doesn't bother me, so if I have a need for the fans to be low, I will just use one of the predefined profiles. I do use custom profiles on my GPUs though, so my GPU fans don't always run at 100, but I don't mind my CPU and System fans to be at 100.

I use fan curves for the fans and keep the AIO pump @ 100%.

Also, I decided to do a test on my main rig(10700K/3070Ti). With fans(CPU/System) at 100%, my CPU idle temps were in the mid 20sC. I just put the Quiet Mode on to test my thermals, the fans are at around 25-27%, and my CPU idle temps are in the mid 30sC. So idle CPU temps, there is a difference in temps between Quiet Mode and Full Speed Mode of around 10C. But even with the Quiet fan curve, if temps get to 60C, fan speeds will turn on to 100% again.

Idle temps in the 30's is still very much acceptable. It just comes down to preference really.

Absolutely, you are right. But I think I will mess around and create myself some custom profiles. Maybe one where if the temps are below 50 fans will turn off, and turn back on when they reach 50. IDK, we shall see.

PC fans cant cool the thermals below room temperature, no matter how fast they spin.

So if your fans can keep the computer at room temperature at 25% spin keeping them at 100% spin is just uneccesary energy use (small really, 12V x like 0.1amps) and the maximum possible wear on the fans.

If the computers at max working load then thats where the fans will end up anyway. Id just keep the fan curve on standard so it can go its full operating range.

Constantly changing fan speeds actually wears down the bearings faster than running a constant speed.

With more fans, you don't need to run 100% for the case fans, I normally run mine at 30%

Running my fans at 100% and my idle temps are like 25C. It is really nice to see. At 30% and the temps can get to the mid-high 30s. I know that is still acceptable, but it is nice to see idle temps as low as 25C.

Apart from slowly killing your fans and becoming deaf for no reasons, 25° is useless. Being in the 30s is more, way more than acceptable.

This
Idle temps mean nothing, only thing that matters is load temps

You can idle at sub 30, but go up to 100 degrees in heavy loads

Personally running them on Max will be annoying.
I got rid of harddrives and replaced them with SSD to reduce the noise in my PC.

I can't imagine running my fans on Max speed 24/7.

With a proper fan curve the fans won't constantly change speed unless you have to start up some high intensity process and then quit it a moment later. But if you play a demanding game the temps will just go up to a certain point where the fan can handle it and it'll be at that speed until the person is done with gaming.

Honestly, I think you guys are underestimating how much these fans can take. I mean, you guys keep talking about slowly killing your fans, but they are fans, they are designed to spin at a certain speed. And you would be surprised how long they can go at that speed until they crap the bed. In all my years, I have seen maybe two fans crap the bed. One just stopped working, but it was within the first year, so it was a faulty fan. The other was a fan on my Strix 980 Ti. It didn't stop working, but it wasn't running at the same speeds as the other two anymore. The bearings were shot. It also made a grinding noise as it turned. This was also within the first year, so again it was faulty.

The fans on the PC my Dad is using are all pretty old. The 200mm fans are from 2012. They have been running at 100% since then, and they are still tip top. And except for one, I think the other ones are all over 6 years old. And they have been running at 100 pretty much the whole time. And they are still tip top. And as far as noise. Fan noise never really bothered me, or my Dad. Unless it is a loud whining or grinding or something like that, which these fans don't do, the noise isn't bothersome.

But as far as my PC, I will use custom profiles as I see fit, but my Dad said he wants to conitnue using the fans at 100%. I say go for it. If one, or multiple, end up crapping the bed, we will just replace it, or them.

To be honest it doesn't matter if you're running them 100%, they'll likely outlive your entire build regardless.

Pretty much what I figured. I mean, even if a fan dies, it is not like they are super expensive. I can just replace them.

Yep. You'll probably be able to plop them into your next one...unless they're eBay fans or equivalent garbage.
