Whats too hot for a MSI GTX 960 2gb

Right now default clock is 1140 clocked to 1456 mhz right not at 49c. What degrees C would be to hot?

GeForce website lists the max tempature at 98 degrees C.

49-50 is good for idle and keeping it under 80 like Nekomata says during a session will keep it lasting a good long while.

You need to test your overclock under load (doing graphic benchmarks) to see if you went too far (visual artifacts) or it gets too hot. You cannot tell that when idling because when it is not busy, it runs at a lower clock speed than the overclock you set.

For example you can run Unigine Valley and there is a setting to have it display GPU temperature besides fps, etc. https://unigine.com/products/benchmarks/valley/
