5.1 surround sound stopped working?
Windows 10
Logitech 5.1 surround system the nicer one

I know my connections are right

I have 2 sound places

1st place - under Playback devices -

Speakers - set to 5.1 surround sound, test does not do center, rear left, rear right, or c.sub
Properties, levels all 100% all on
Enhancements - speaker fill, intermediate mode

2nd place - under Realtek HD audio manager
Settings are the same as under speakers (and indeed they change each other when I modify them)

Also set 5.1, also no rear either, center, or csub
Test does not do them as well

Anyone got some suggestions to try?

Playback Devices > Speakers > Configure

Try changing back to another (such as 2.1) and apply. Then redo it again, but as 5.1

And do sound tests with Speaker Fill Off. Some tests might not work since Speaker Fill forces 2 Channel to fulfill your 5.1
have, going to less than 5.1 removes speaker fill by default, going back has the same issue.

Then it's probably your Audio Driver for Win10 having issues.

When Vista/Win7 came out, many like Creative had issues, especially with Surround Sound and Perk Settings all working + sticking after reboots.

If Realtek then it is onboard audio yes?
What Motherboard or Laptop model is it?

onboard with that mobo

worked the other day, tweeked the setting from 5.1 to stereo to deal with the fallout 4 no sound bug on 5.1 and higher

untweaked it today (reversed exactly what I did) and nadda

plugged in

Black = speaker rear
pink = csub
green = line out (in?)

amp connects to pc through those

the 5 remote speakers connect via tinned 2 conductor wire that clamps into the back and into the amp
do you have the correct realtek and sb drivers?

install them in order
realtek -> sb

Happy now... the fix was after much searching... Simply putting it back to factory defaults, go figure...

If you experience any issues with your Z906, you may want to reset the unit back to the factory defaults.

To reset your Z906 to the factory default settings:

Power your Z906 off using the Power button on the Control Console.

While in the "Off" state, press and hold down the Input button for eight (8) seconds. You'll see several lights on the Control Console light up and there will be a popping sound from the speakers.

The factory default setting are:

Volume = 30% (3 lights around the volume knob)

Subwoofer, Center, and Rear = 50% (5 lights around the volume knob when channels are selected using the Level button)

See Knowledge Base article 23022 for more information.
Input = 1

Stereo Effect = 3D

Once in the factory default state, the Control Console should display these settings.
Ok well for future reference; when all else fails, u can make the device go all back to defaults by reinstall the drivers.
yeah, that failed bad-motha

did not fix
