- CPU (i5 or higher)

- Graphics card
- Possibly OS
- Case
Reuse from old PC:
- Power supply
- RAM
- Hard drive (s)
- Optical drive
- Accessories such as KB, mouse and screen
If this is all over budget, throw a Phenom X6 1045t (95w) CPU and GTX 960 or R9 380 4gb graphics card into your current PC.
its very hard to reuse an oem case with aftermarket mobo
<$300 will be hard to get a new cpu/mobo/gpu/case
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/hKGWpg
if the oem build has the aii x4 640 odds are its a weak board that will not take a 125w am3 cpu
and will not properly support fx
post a cpuz validation link
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
cpuz -> validate button -> submit button
it will open a browser, copy the url (address) and paste it here
Phenom II X6 1065T or X4 960T (stick to 95W models) - $70 ebay is your best bet for these
Any of these should work:

The remaining $200 should get you an AMD R9 290 4GB, but I'd be tempted to look at the weaker GTX960 4GB because your case has poor ventilation.
No reason not to keep the case, it should support any mATX board.
