Upgrading CPU am I wrong?
I never opened up my computer to upgrade any hardware so theese past weeks I've been browsing around and learning. If I want to ugrade my CPU this is what I did

Downloaded CPU-Z
Under CPU Tab ---------- See what socket I have I have AM3+

Go to Newegg.com and do a power search
searching for my CPU Socket type

Anything else I need to know before upgrading?

CPU-Z is a good place to start. Do the CPU-Z validation and post the link.

What motherboard, PSU, Case and CPU cooler do you have?

CPU-Z will tell you about the motherboard.
Check motherboard site for cpu compatibility and bios ver.

AMD have 95w and 125w and a few 220w am3+ cpus so you need to look at what your motherboard can realistically take.

Post your specs so we can give you an honest opinion if you're going in the right direction, cpu-z will tell you most you need to know but psu you'll need to look at it for the name / model.

I want to play fallout 4
I need to upgrade my cpu, gpu, and maybe my power supply but idk
I want to upgrade this pc to its best safe performance
With good cooling and a decent PSU (what case, PSU and CPU cooler do you have?) you should be able to run an 8000 series CPU on that board at stock speeds.

CPU Support list (8000 series only):
AMD FX-8370E 3300MHz 1MBx8 8MB Vishera 32nm C0 95W 5200 F7d
AMD FX-8320E 3200MHz 1MBx8 8MB Vishera 32nm C0 95W 5200 F7d
AMD FX-8310 3400MHz 1MBx8 8MB Vishera 32nm C0 95W 5200 F7d
AMD FX-8300 3300MHz 1MBx8 8MB Vishera 32nm C0 95W 5200 F6
AMD FX-8140 3200MHz 1MBx8 8MB Bulldozer 32nm B2 95W 5200 F6
AMD FX-8120 3100MHz 1MBx8 8MB Bulldozer 32nm B2 95W 5200 F6
AMD FX-8100 2800MHz 1MBx8 8MB Bulldozer 32nm B2 95W 5200 F1

What is your budget for the upgrade?

idk what Power supply I have but when upgrading my gpu do i have to know any vital information?
Which currency?

£400 > $400
Your BIOS is version F2, you will likely need to upgrade to ver F6 at least.

pick BIOS in the dropdown and download the .exe file for the bios. that is an self-extracting archive. extract the file 970ADS3.F6 and put it in your root folder C: then reboot and enter BIOS setup. press F8 to launch q-flash utility and load the file from root.

Notice how the motherboard doesn't support the FX 8320 and 8350? I think that is mostly due to the lack of VRM cooling on this motherboard model but I may be wrong. Either way those 2 CPUs will not work.

Anyhow, avoid the FX 8320 and 8350 on this motherboard. FX 6300 or 8320E (make sure its the E version) are your best bet.

Not happening on that motherboard. It doesn't even support the FX 8350 or standard FX 8320.

If you want 8 core you need the "E" models, such as the FX 8320E.
yea I'm looking @ AMD FX-8370E I really want fallout 4

That one is on the CPU support list. You'll probaby need to update to the latest BIOS first before upgrading.
