Is the Intel Core i7 6700 the same as i7 4790k in performance?

I've bought my GTX 980, 7 months ago friend won't upgrade it for some time,I've started thinking of upgrading cause of the recent games demanding an i7 for max settings.

Have you thought on overclocking the 3570k for now? You might get a good boost just from doing that. Alternatively, something like an i7 3770k would mean you wouldn't have to replace you motherboard.

My motherboard isn't good i bought it a long time ago like 4 years ago for a cheap price ,i cant overclock my CPU on it, it's also one of the reasons im thinking of upgrading.

Not really. If is was 50% more powerful maybe but 7-15% not so much
