But it's more of a safety question than a real life situation. I think he is a serious professional so it should be all right. Anyway, I have a quote and I'll get a detailed invoice plus a walkthrough before to take the pc home.
could stock pile lots of part boxes...
you really just need to know....
whats parts you are getting in your system
and how to check those parts on receiving the system
its a worry that you dont trust this company... my computer
shop has been around from over a decade... and i can trust
them to sell me what they say they are going to sell me...
exactly...
i walk into a store...
i got $4k.... what can i get... give me a quote...
i go home with the quote... look everything up and
see if i can find out if all these parts work well together
without to many problems...
then its yay or nay on build and i ask to see it
working in store prior to purchase... response should be yes..
as they do test as well... so they can just keep it on the bench
til you get there...
prior to that i can look at the models they are selling...
and the parts they are using in those models..
and then i can match those parts and prices
with other stores to see if its a deal i want to go ahead with...
i have built 2 computes and paid for my last one to be built..
and i know nothing much about computers and trust my computer
store to sell me something that will work for the next 5 or more years...
find a computer store you can trust... or get good at research...
But as people said, business is business. The pc builder shouldn't take it personal.
Personally, if you don't trust my work then you can keep your money and leave.
I would just say politely: please do not change parts unless I specifically request it. Please call me if you have any problems. May I briefly inspect the machine when you've completed the work?" Also: ask for all the parts boxes (you paid for them also) and inspect your receipt carefully.
