Is this normal??
Hi!!

I have just bought this pc:

HP OMEN 873-0000ns
Intel® Core™ i5-9400F 9MB
Processor speed: 2.90 GHz
Vel. turbo procesador: 4.10 GHz
Type RAM: DDR4
TlRAM: 16 GB
Graphic card: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1660
Type of graphic memory: GDDR5
Total graphic card memory: 6 GB
Hard disc 1: 1 TB HDD
Hard disc 2: 512 GB SSD

Im playing Life is Feudal forest village
Procesador: Intel Core 2DUO ó AMD 64 con al menos 2 GHz.
Memoria: 2 GB de RAM.
Gráficos: GeForce 460/Radeon HD 5750

And the graphics are put to low and with a use of GPU of 84% and 53% of CPU... It this normal? I mean, i have a GTX 1660

THANK YOU A LOT!!

Ah, ok! Thanks for explaining me so easy!! :)
You're welcome, and I was wondering if I explained it simply enough.

If you want a better look (though even this isn't fool proof for reasons of its own), you can change the CPU graph in Windows Task Manager to "logical processors" instead of "overall utilization".

Yes its normal. If the GPU hits 90% or higher its being fully utilized.

Now It is in 98-99% that is bad for the pc???

No, it just means the card's doing it's job. If the game starts stuttering just reduce some values in the graphics settings.

Wont really cause any lasting damage but it might overheat sooner and turn itself off to protect the CPU parts. so make sure to be cooling your PC when using it with such intensity. dont cover the PC fans because it will heat up faster

this person has no idea what they are talking about.

you want your GPU at 99% utilization when heavy gaming because that means your GPU is doing its job. nothing bad will happen, its a good thing.

Au contrare, you don't want 99% usage when gaming -- higher usage adds latency, and makes stutters more frequent.
By limiting FPS to a decent value (which is either within Free/G-sync range of your monitor (if applicable) or at 85-90% utilisation) then the other 10-15% will act as a buffer, if there are any hard to render frames, heavily reducing framedrops. And sitting below 95% utilisation reduces latency noticeably. It makes ~120-144FPS have as low latency as ~300 FPS (some situations may be different, but most follow this behaviour.)
It also keeps the GPU (slightly) cooler, which can mean either quieter fans, or higher boosting, which leads to more performance.

99% GPU usage isn't a bad thing, it's just not a good/optimal thing, in regards to gaming.
If you even remotely care about a nicer performance, you would limit FPS (with RTSS) and keep GPU utilisation at 85-90%.

No, not in the slightest.

Higher usage could produce some stuttering (small pauses) when playing, and/or higher temperatures.
But nothing that would damage or harm the computer, after all it was designed to be used.

Why are you playing the game in Low-graphics. You should set the graphics to ''High'' manually through the game options. 9400F + 1660 can easily run any games on High-settings 1080p 60fps.

Low graphics settings can also lead to high CPU+GPU usage if the fps uncapped. You will get 300 fps which you don't need.
Depends on his use case, sometimes higher FPS can help. :^)

If the game isn’t demanding on either the cpu or gpu then, yeah!
In older games, he could be running into a CPU bottleneck, since they aren't coded to use that many cores (usually 1-4), so it would only show up as like 5-40% on a modern processor.

I'm not saying that's exactly the case, but it could potentially be it.

Just because CPU usage is low doesn't mean it's not bottlenecking, or limiting somehow.

And how can i reduce the FPS? Im playing Fallout 4 and i cant change graphics, just select among low, medium, high, ultra (because of unknowledge i set medium)

You can set max framerate with RivaTuner Statistics Server (usually packaged with MSI Afterburner)

It can only be done by downloading programms?

Other than using V-Sync which just limits FPS to your refresh rate for the most part.
It's normal

You can do it in NVControl Panel. I can't remember where though, a quick Google search should help find it.
AMD has a frame limiter in their driver too.

It will limit the FPS in the same way as RTSS.

Never use Vsync as a frame limiter.
Even with Vsync, you should use RTSS (or other applicable frame limiter) to get a proper smooth experience.
