GT 740 vs GTX 460

How much better is the GTX 460 than the GT 740? (I have the Gigabyte OC version of the 740 if it makes any difference) Any suggestions for a good card at around 200 euros?

Not enough to make it a worthwhile upgrade. You should probably look at a gtx950 or better still a gtx960.

460 is stronger, but needs more power

for 200 euro, you can get an r9 280/380 or gtx 960

A GTX 460 would be an upgrade, I believe its roughly between the GTX 750 and 750ti in terms of performance. Not a huge upgrade though keep that in mind.

I certainly wouldn't suggest paying 200 euros for one, its an old card. If you are getting it free or very cheap (say 20-45 euros) then it would probably be worth it, they still play games well enough.

If you are going to spend 200 euros on a GPU though, look at the GTX 960 or R9 380. Both would run circles around both a GTX 460 or GT 740.

get an r9 380 or gtx 960
vs650 will be fine with those gpus

gtx460 is terrible, do NOT get it. I have one and it sucks. It performs about the same as gtx 650ti that i also have in a different pc.

I mean, it is still slightly better than the gt 740, but it is still terrible and not worth upgrading to. If you are desperate for a cheap upgrade you better look for something like gtx560 ti/gtx570 on ebay. But even then it's a gamble, because there are not that many 400/500 series gpu's left, and many of them are heavily used or defective.
