Windows is updating while I'm playing games. Windows 10
I think the random restarts I've been experiencing might be windows updates. This last time I was playing Remember Me, when suddenly the screen went black, and the update screen came up. Is this auto update? Is there a way to make windows so it won't just update while gaming?

There hasn't been any major update for Windows 10 for the last few weeks. However to be absolutely sure you should routinely check the Windows Update page in case you're prompted to restart the computer.

It said "configuring update" when it restarted.

The December update is just released for all currently supported Windows. But before that it's been quiet for a while.

Why is windows restarting my PC automatically?

There are numerous reasons as to why the computer restarts on its own. Windows 10's new mandatory update installation is just one of them.

That is normal when an update is applied to Windows 10.
Set it up correctly.
Start Menu > Settings > Updates & Security, set Windows Updates to Notify You.
If you want to better pick and choose when to do updates, set Windows Updates > Advanced to not share updates across LAN/Internet, as well as setting it to "Metered Connection"
