Trying to remove Edge but keeps telling me The system cannot find the path specified.

I browsed to the folder in Windows Explorer and there is no folder just named Edge. But there are folders named:


EdgeCore
EdgeUpdate
EdgeWebView
Temp

So which of these do I have to navigate to please?

Whenever it shows up (usually after a major MS update), I just delete it again with CCleaner. Removing it any other way is just a waste of time IMO.

I just use Revo Uninstaller. It's a useful tool to keep around for other stuff than purging Microsoft's crap.

You can download the Windows 10 Ameliorated iso. Must have a legit Windows 10 key to comply with Microsoft agreement. Then you can run Windows 10 without Edge. I tried it, its cut down so much even search doesn't work. Its a pretty gutted Windows 10 version. It's on Github and Microsoft owns Github, so don't flash me a warning Steam. Microsoft approved version of a gutted Windows 10.

I keep uninstalling microsoft webview2 runtime. I even have windows updates turned off via group policy editor. I read that it's for microsoft office programs and i don't have any office programs installed yet every time i uninstall it it comes back it's like a freaking virus.

what i’ve noticed, is if you type in words directly from a folder’s address line it will bring up your browser
- here the browser will try to find a server, if you type a single word (eg. “https://[the single word]”
- if multiple words.. then the browser brings up a google search result (if google is the main search engine, i’d suppose)

maybe that is related to why edge is “fused” into the core of the system

I don't use that search. I launch my browser.

just use windows debloater,if/when you update itll probly chuck it all back in anyway,i killed off cortana and edge in the end had to re-install windows

he , he , it s an old thread ..i have not been useing Edge for over 3 months . i got rid of it by CCleaner .
