Trying to remove Edge but keeps telling me The system cannot find the path specified.
Following the steps here:

https://www.tomsguide.com/how-to/how-to-uninstall-microsoft-edge

I browsed to the folder in Windows Explorer and there is no folder just named Edge. But there are folders named:

EdgeCore
EdgeUpdate
EdgeWebView
Temp

So which of these do I have to navigate to please?

edit:

Here are the errors. It cannot find the folder despite that it exists

C:\WINDOWS\system32>cd %PROGRAMFILES(X86)%\Microsoft\Edge\Application\44.19041.423.0\Installer

Removing Edge causes a bunch of issues, since it's so tied into windows...
Just set a policy that prevents it from running, and ignore it

Yes but why is it saying the path is invalid?
Even just trying to navigate to %PROGRAMFILES(X86) tells me The system cannot find the path specified. When I can clearly browse to it in Windows Explorer.

I believe it should be

cd %programfiles(x86)%

single % sign - needs the other one at the end too. maybe there is a type in the guide
upper and lower case don't matter on windows, so either will work

From Windows/System32 you need to step back a directory first, then move into the one you want;

cd.. <enter>
cd Program Files (x86) <enter>

Get Windows 10 Pro goto the telemetry options enable "Enterprise: 0" mode Then add some firewall rules for communicating with Microsoft telemetry servers done, problem solved.

That wouldn't work either, since he has to go back 2 directories.
On that case he'd have to either use "cd.." 2 times, or use "cd\"to return to the drive's root directory.

However since he types the full path it would work anyway no matter which directory he is in.

@OP: The first command is properly formed but obviously the directory "44.19041.423.0" doesn't exist.

Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application and check the name of the directory, then use the proper directory name in the command.

I.e. mine is 92.0.902.73, so I'd have to use:
cd %PROGRAMFILES(X86)%\Microsoft\Edge\Application\92.0.902.73\Installer

NOTE I highly suggest you don't remove Edge because you will probably break your system.
It is evident that you are not tech savvy, so my advice is: Edge doesn't eat up resources, leave it alone. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Yes there is multiple libraries they pull from MS Edges.

Edge is removable with no issues for me (used ccleaner to do it)
also using open shell start menu replacement (no tiles)
used O&O shutup10 , disabled cortana telemetry etc

I use Firefox for web browsing with duckduckgo and avira browser safety addons (blocks some advertising stuff and third party cookies) some sites might not work properly but others work faster for me. e.g. less anoying ads on youtube

also removed all xbox related apps (game bar is still known to cause issues in games)no game bar, no problem for me.

Network set to metered (less chance of ping spikes when gaming) limits MS ability to download updates in the background while gaming.

Not had any slowdowns or issues without edge.

Well, if you remove the .exe and .dll files, then you should have no further issues. If there are too many remnants, then the app will still try to work.

If anything, one can consider re-installing Edge and then using an uninstaller like Revo, HiBit, or I see CCleaner also to uninstall, scan and remove remnants.

Just leave it and block it from the internet? I actually prefer to have it around as a backup browser to test sites that give me issues in my main browser.
I love how in yhe radio privacy settings microsoft explains that app;s _do their magic_ with access to them. soooo charming

You can just remove all of the pinned stuff and you won't get tiles. It makes the Windows 10 Start menu pretty decent.

Because I don't like microsoft's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ browser.
If you don't know microsoft collects all your data. For some people it even force installs without their permission.

I see they even installed that microsoft edge web view 2. Meanwhile i never opened edge since i installed windows 10 pro and got all windows updates turned off via group policy. So no clue how that got downloaded.

or browse its install folder, and uninstall it manually

They aren't going to shove it back on there. Because that is only step one of the removal process. I did a similar thing with internet explorer back in Windows 7. But this is different. And it's very frustrating.
I am using another browser but I want that piece of ♥♥♥♥ off my system. I don't like that it runs in the background eating up resources.
Edge is now tightly integrated to the operating system, just like internet explorer was. You claim that you removed Internet Explorer in Windows 7 but it never was possible to remove all of it; you just removed parts of it, and not all of it.

Also, eating up your resources? It doesn't run in the background if you don't run it.

Don't use Windows if you are so afraid of your valuable (statistical) data being collected.

Wrong. I deleted the pre-installation files so it couldn't run at all.

And yes it does run in the background. You just can't see it because it's a hidden process.
