Yes but why is it saying the path is invalid?
Even just trying to navigate to %PROGRAMFILES(X86) tells me The system cannot find the path specified. When I can clearly browse to it in Windows Explorer.
Also if it say can't find path to it, then likely corrupted, something wrong in the registry, or something stopping it from seeing that path example you compress the files size too much making it unreadable, or did some kind of encryption that it not working well with.
Also when dealing with in system32 don't fool around in there if you don't know what you're doing.
They aren't going to shove it back on there. Because that is only step one of the removal process. I did a similar thing with internet explorer back in Windows 7. But this is different. And it's very frustrating.
I am using another browser but I want that piece of ♥♥♥♥ off my system. I don't like that it runs in the background eating up resources.
Because I don't like microsoft's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ browser.
If you don't know microsoft collects all your data. For some people it even force installs without their permission.
Also it not doing anything, nor running to begin with, if not even using it. Also MS like to integrate things into their system, so not always simple to remove if they put effort to ensure it doesn't get remove, can't say if they did that to edge, or not. Anyways if want it gone, but couldn't uninstall normally, then simply deleting the files for it, and this just breaks it, and stop from even running, of course if there anything that was program to call out to it may be an issue to that if not, again can't say.
FYI new edge is chromium base, so if using a chromium browser they're kind of the same.
edit
if you re so eager to do uninstall it the way they suggest , try writing complete directory names , it should do .
According to the error messages, the bulk of Edge browser may already have been removed. I use HiBit Uninstaller which lists those Edge components like EdgeCore and not only removes them but scans and removes any remnants.
Use uninstallers like these at your own risk though since it comes by default as part of the OS..
I learned the hard way better to disable stuff and prevent their running in the background. Out of sight, out of mind (one hopes).
Also, eating up your resources? It doesn't run in the background if you don't run it.
Don't use Windows if you are so afraid of your valuable (statistical) data being collected.
By default Program Files is two words and not capitalised, maybe thats why its not there.
