The only thing I haven't tried yet is running my APU alone or with an AMD gpu.
Update: It just crashed somewhere past 700 seconds.....NO. Wait, my computer fell asleep.
Note on specs: If there are 2+ components in a section it's because I had the problem with this component or combination too.
CPU/APU: AMD Athlon II x4 860k / A4-5300
GPU: EVGA Geforce 960 SSC Edi.
RAM:G.skill Ripjaws [2x2gb] 1600Mhz / G.skill RipjawsX [1x8gb] 1333Mhz / G.skill Ripjaws [2x2gb] + G.skill RipjawsX [1x8gb]
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-F2A88X-D3H / ASUS A58M-E (I can't get the 860k to got to post on my gigabye for the life of me)
PSU: Corisair CX430---430w
OS:Win 10 Enterprise 64-bit
Here's a list of things I haven't tried yet to replicate (R) or eliminate (E) the problem:
-Using an AMD GPU (E)
-Changing Graphics Drivers (R)
-Using my Intel MoBo & CPU (R,E)
*More ideas would be helpful
I guess I'll keep a running list for things that don't cause the crash:
-PhysX (I've been running it for 2000 sec. [33 min] now)
If I knew how to cause the problem intentionally, it would be a lot less stressful to solve it.
Also, have you updated or installed anything recently before the crashing became an issue? Perhaps trying a different GPU driver version may help.
Not sure if you'll find this helpful but try without the GPU and see if it crashes. If it doesn't crash, try various driver versions with the GPU installed. Since you and the OP are running the same driver and are experiencing similar issues, this may be the cause.
One more thing, the 860k may work on your gigabyte board after a BIOS update. FM2+ boards have been around longer than Kavari.
PSU - Cooler Master V1000 80plus gold
Check temps of the system, to make sure nothing is overheating. If its an older pc, it may need cleaning.
I see you are running the latest Nvidia driver (I think that is the latest version anyway). Did the issue occur before installing/updating to it?
The problem has been around since before the updated driver (thought the newest one might help)
I cleaned it out 3 days ago with my compressor
Temps CPU - 40F to 67F
GPU - 75F to 77F
I tried with the latest bios and the update specifically noted to add support to the 860k. I'm waiting on a reply from Gigabyte support (like they'll be any help).
Random depending what I am doing. As for the OS install date that was done as a joke by a old friend of mine that helped me build and set up the rig. (we had a falling out and not longer communicate)
Has not crashed all day!
For your comparison, I was playing FC3 ( I don't have FC4) through steam/uplay yesterday just over an hour no crashes hear or any other time with any other game, 8350/280x/990FXA-UD3.
Maybe do a DDU gpu driver clean out see if that clears it up. http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
