What's the best r9 390 version?
I'm upgrading my GPU, from a Sapphire 290 (I don't want a Sapphire 390 because my Sapphire 290 died and Sapphire support sucks, thankfully Amazon helped me out and refunded me).

I'm currently stuck between the MSI 390 and the ASUS 390...
Also, I heard people saying the 390 crashes a lot due to driver issues, has this recently been fixed? With the new AMD driver that came out serveral days ago.

Could people list what temperatures they're getting with this card?

Any suggestions are much appreciated, thanks in advance.

I don't really know about crashes in 390 to be honest. But from my experience with Asus i can say that they are good especially Direct CU2 is great at keeping the tempratures low and being quiet overall. Never tried an MSI card so i better not talk about them much but they are also good and reliable brand. The new crimson driver looks good as i understand from peoples feedback. If you are really stuck between 2 read some benchmarks from different sources as possible so you can have better opinion.

This issue should be fixed with the newer drivers. You should preform all Windows updates and possibly any motherboard updates as well. Sorry to hear your experience with Sapphire. I've had nothing but good ones. Id go for the Asus card over the MSI branded one. Make sure your PSU can handle the 390. You may see temps up to or past 85 celsius.

their crashes are more likley due to power supply vs drivers

poor or overrated psu will cause driver crahes
Here's my story, I bought an asus strix 390 with the three fans with the money I saved up from my summer job and thought this was a good purchase. Plugged it in, installed drivers and ran it. Honestly I was disappointed because it was not performing good (might have been because of my fx 8320 or it was a lemon) also, this thing gets hot, reached 85c in gta 5, stay away from that one because it has bad reviews because of heat. Also the blinking light is annoying because you can't change it to stop blinking. Not to mention it's loud as hell.

My PSU is a Corsair CX 750w and my 290 reached 70-77C when under full load, would a 390 be about the same? My case is a thermaltake level 10 gt, it has 3 200mm fans, and 1 140mm fan. One of the 200mm fans blows straight onto the GPU.

What FPS were you getting in GTA at high/ultra? Also, how good is the airflow in your case, because could that be why it's reaching 85c?
I'm using a FX 8350.

I was going to get a 970 but the 390 performs better.

I would say MSI, XFX and Gigabyte are good sub venders. Asus are good also, but stick to their Strix models rather than the DirectCU models.

On some of these cards, the fan only spins when needed, which might be the reason why temperatures seem high. Good airflow is key with these cards also.
