Wireless keyboard recommendations

I had an Asus Eee EK-C2 2.4GHz keyboard/mouse that I used with a Shuttle XPC based PC running Windows 8. The keyboard consumed two AAAs per day, so I replaced it with a Jelly Comb Universal Bluetooth Keyboard (which has been great on battery usage) and a Kinivo BTD-400 Bluetooth 4.0 USB adapter. Unfortunately, I am unable to use the bluetooth keyboard prior to the OS/bluetooth stack being loaded (e.g. at the BIOS/bitlocker password prompt). The 2.4GHz keyboard did not have this problem.

I'm looking for a recommendation for a wireless keyboard that can be used at the bitlocker password prompt and BIOS screen, that doesn't require me to replace the batteries daily. Also, I don't need/want the 10-keypad.

Check the BIOS options. Most have options for USB emulation and that should work for Bluetooth just as it does for Wired/Wireless USB based Keyboards & Mice.

I'd look at ones like Logitech. If it is going to be BT you need or prefer, look for ones that have built-in battery and can charge via USB. Throwing away AA or AAA batteries all the time is such a waste. If you need have to end up using a KB or Mouse that uses standard AA/AAA battery types, then invest in ones of high MAH that are rechargeable; like Energizer Lithium
